I'm planning on attending the 8 p.m. N. Gwinnett game, however, will probably go around 7 p.m. to see some of the Grayson game.

Saturday: Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater versus Loganville (Ga.) Grayson * at North Gwinnett High *

Buzz: Grayson will be among the preseason favorites to compete for a Georgia state title while Edgewater is a team on the rise that is getting some preseason recognition early. The game is part of a doubleheader at North Gwinnett but it is certainly the appetizer for the nightcap.

 

Saturday: East St. Louis (Ill.) High at Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett

Buzz: This has the potential to be one of the most exciting early season games across the country. Both teams will be running a spread style offense and love to put points up on the board. A defensive stop may be as rare as if this were a 7-on-7 game.

Following is a little info on one of the NEW football players for NG… Chris Bolden, committed to GA Tech in BASKETBALL…yes, you read correctly. He played for Norcross last year and they won the GA 5A state championship in BB and then he moved to NG. (Rumor on blogs, his girlfriend who is committed to the Maryland women’s basketball program and plays for NG, is one of the reasons. He had offers for BB from Miami, Southern Cal, VA Tech, among others)

Enjoyed watching the Grayson/Edgewater game--have watched Grayson football over the years, from peewee through the high school level. This may be the year they capture their first state championship. Go Rams!!!
