redtiger 1,740 Report Share Posted March 14, 2012 Did anyone see the new proposal for all sports other than football? Maybe I read it wrong but the way I understood it was; after regular season and district tournament play the state will be divided in half East/West sections, w/ each section having 4 conferences(like regions, 8 total), EVERY TEAM will get into conference play, w/ the conference #1 and #2 making it into the section tournament. From there im not sure on what happens. The teams will be ranked w/ a similar system to power points used in football. Is it just me or is allowing every team in just a waste of time? Why not use the points system to pick the top 8 teams in each section? Divide each section into 2 conferences and play down to a conference champ and then send the last 4 teams to the state Final 4? jpdub95 10 Report Share Posted March 14, 2012 that is logical and easy to understand, so the VHSL cannot do that.

redtiger 1,740 Author Report Share Posted March 14, 2012 I personally love letting everyone play in the opening round and making it one and done. I wouldnt have a real problem w/ everyone getting in if it wasnt for the district tournaments, in that setup they are pointless. Why not do away w/ district tournaments? Just regular season and then the State Tournament I do like the Conferences, they would really cut down on travel time
