VivaFutbol 10 Report Share Posted July 17, 2012 Hey guys, haven't been around in awhile, but my brother and I are looking for a golf course (quality and price of a Draper or Wytheville golf club) on our way to Savannah. Any suggestions of course yall have played?
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted July 17, 2012 What route are you taking to Savannah?
VivaFutbol 10 Author Report Share Posted July 18, 2012 Probably should have stated that in the open. We plan to go from Wytheville 77 through Charlotte and so on to 95. We would be open for side variations but not so far. Nothing like going through Atlanta or anything like that.

Any suggestions of course yall have played? If you are looking for something in Savannah, try Crosswinds Golf Club right by the airport. It runs around $45 with twilight specials for around $25. Great track with 27 holes. PGA Tour player Brian Harmon grew up on that course. http://www.crosswindsgolfclub.com/ If you want something along the way and your route is taking you through Columbia, SC, try Oak Hills. I loved that place when I lived there. It runs $35-$45 depending on time and day of the week. http://www.oakhillsgolf.com/ If your route is I-74 out of Charlotte to I-95, try Santee Cooper Country Club near Florence, SC. http://www.santeecoopergolf.com/santee_cooper_country_club.html You can't go wrong with any of the three. Great tracks that are always in great condition. We used to take a trip in early spring every year to Santee. They have 17 courses around Lake Marion with stay and play packages that are very affordable.
1Hokie 13 Report Share Posted July 18, 2012 http://www.tegacaygolfclub.com/index.html Stopped and played this Tega Cay course on my way to Santee, SC a couple years ago. It's in Fort Mill, just south of Charlotte and right off of I-77. Pretty nice and affordable from what I remember.

BatCaveBeaver 10 Report Share Posted July 18, 2012 Try Springfiled Golf Club just off I-77 Carowinds Blvd take a left off the ramp go three miles and you can't miss it.. Not a house on the course, great layout and wild turkeys and deer everywhere. Only two holes parallel each other. You could try Regent Park in the same general area another great layout near the original site of the old PTL with Jim Baker. You will be satisfied with either one but both championship layouts with some great holes on both. I have played both and live in the Charlotte area.
