Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted February 21, 2013 The whole "ticket guarantee" is a horribly flawed system that serves to enrich only the ACC and sponsors. It would make news if the ACC's presidents banded together and refused to play the game unless the ticket guarantee was revoked. The incentive's there: it's not like the ACC is chocked full of Monster State Us.
Hacker 82 Report Share Posted February 21, 2013 The whole "ticket guarantee" is a horribly flawed system that serves to enrich only the ACC and sponsors. It would make news if the ACC's presidents banded together and refused to play the game unless the ticket guarantee was revoked. The incentive's there: it's not like the ACC is chocked full of Monster State Us. No real shocker. Ask Tech's athletic dept. how much they lost when the championship was in Jacksonville. In the age of Stub Hub and on line sales, schools having to be on the hook for guaranteed ticket sales does exactly what UVAO says. It is the bowl racket, except that the ACC benefits, so indirectly the member schools also benefit. Unlike the bowls where the bowl committee benefits from the "guarantee." GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted February 21, 2013 Actually, schools would likely sell their allotment of tickets if they weren't the shittiest seats in the stadium...
bhs7695 185 Author Report Share Posted February 22, 2013 The whole expense on schools and fans a like for these neutral site games is getting out of hand in a hurry not to mention the lack of decent seats in the schools' ticket allotment. With these new TV deals conferences are signing, it's going to get a lot worse.
