When each section (VHSL still calls them Regions on their website) reaches it's final two teams, instead of having an East Section championship and West Section championship, these final four teams cross bracket to start the 4 team state playoff. So there can be 2 west teams, 2 east, or 1 each. 4A does the same thing except their final four do not cross bracket (so they get an East champ vs. West champ state title game). http://www.vhsl.org/doc/upload/tournament-format-football2.pdf Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
