stan.the.man 29 Report Share Posted October 31, 2023 I just saw in the BHC that Steve Marsee has passed away at the young age of 66. I believe his grandson was on Lee's state championship golf team a couple weeks ago!! Prayers for his family. Liam McPoyle
Liam McPoyle 1,863 Report Share Posted October 31, 2023 Steve Marsee was one the best basketball players in SWVA history. He set the VHSL career scoring record in 1976 playing for the Pennington Bobcats. He scored 2,459 points in just 93 games before the advent of the three-point line. He's in both the VHSL and Lincoln Memorial University Hall of Fames.
1inStripes 933 Report Share Posted October 31, 2023 And from what my dad says in playing against him its hard to tell what Marsee's record would have been if there had been a 3 point line. Marsee was 6-4 but played G and hitting shots just inside halfcourt was nothing for him. Liam McPoyle

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE 239 Report Share Posted November 1, 2023 That was the same time Pennington made a run in football and beat the Clintwood Green-Wave before dropping the Championship in a close one (on youtube). Did he play Football?
