Well folks we haven’t done much picking this year because Uncle Percy said he hasn’t had the time to waste to fool with a bunch of Mamby Pamby Losers. Uncle Percy has been a little under the weather and has had 2 of his dogs sick and injured. now Uncle Percy loves his football but his critters come first. Uncle Percy was feeling pretty good last week, his sick dog was doing better, after a lot of PT the injured dog was bouncing around, things were getting back to normal for the rest of us except for Cousin Delbert, which is normal for Delbert, until a post on this site fired Uncle Percy up. He said that calling a game after the 1st half if a team was losing by 50 or more points was the most ridiculous thing he has ever heard in his almost 60 years of watching football. He said anyone who thought of such nonsense shouldn’t be allowed near a football game and (Brother Lance, we will insert a censored version here) is a Mamby Pamby Loser. Well, time to pick.

Twin Springs @ Rye Cove

Both of these teams sneaked away with tougher wins than expected last week. Guess Eastside will spend a little more time on special teams next season. Rye Cove beat the Titans by a couple of TDS 2 weeks ago and are probably a heavy favorite by most people. But, this is the playoffs and anything can happen especially when it’s also a county rivalry game. Look for this to be a close game unless Twin Springs’ speed gets loose and Rye Cove gets caught looking ahead to a Honaker rematch.

The Tigers were roaring along most of the season until lately. Looks like they have been stumbling along here lately. They had a little trouble with Rural Retreat’s Ouija Board Offense. (That Whiny Papoose Petition about the offensive coordinator was the most ridiculous thing until calling a game after the 1st half according to Uncle Percy). They had trouble with the Rebels’ run game earlier. This week the Tigers had better consider putting 9 in the box to catch that Rebel Wildcat or they could be in big trouble. Now the Rowdy Rebels have been their usual self this year just playing hard and winning most. They’ve already avenged their regular season lost to Grundy last week and will be out looking for revenge by bagging a big Tiger this week. It can be tough be beat the same opponent twice in one year, so Tigers Beware.

Tazewell @ Union

The Tazewell Bulldogs are off on a Big Bad Bear hunt this weekend after chasing and eliminating a Wolf Pack last week. The Bulldogs probably had one of their best performances, if not the best, of the year both offensively and defensively. They need that and a little extra if they plan on bagging a Big Bad Bear this weekend. The Bears have been ambling along with their heads held high ever since the nailed the Revenuers. The best thing for Tazewell would be to get into a shootout with Union since they know the Revenuers are back gunning for them. We love for Ol’ Stu Bean’s Dogs to win but it’s going to be tough.

Footnote:  Rumor has it that there’ll be a victory celebration tonight at the RV Park. They say that Kool Aid will be served at the big billboard sign with Sunoco on it right below the Sunoco station/store for the Mamby Pambies.
