strapiton 10 Report Share Posted November 19, 2003 the field is covered from sideline to sideline and from about 25 to 25 yardlines this should keep the center of it dry over the next two days and then it is to clear up

Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted November 19, 2003 If there is a better field-crew in high school football than that of Mitchell Stadium I'd love to meet them. The guys at Mitchell do a great job of keeping the field in outstanding playing shape regardless of weather. Mitchell Stadium was in great shape last year weeks after every other field in the state of WV were pretty much mud pits b/c of the large amounts of rain... jeffro 30 Report Share Posted November 19, 2003 great now if they would fill in the big mud hole at the home team gate entrance---or stock it with trout
go_big_blue 10 Report Share Posted November 19, 2003 They might need to play the Grundy_Graham game somewhere else!
Hillbilly 14 Report Share Posted November 19, 2003 The City had nothing at all to do with the field being covered. This was done by private individuals at their own expense I might add, lots of volunteers helped too. To these folks, I say thank you. To the City of Bluefield, your taking credit for the condition of field is like the "rooster taking credit for the sunrise."
gmenfootball 10 Report Share Posted November 20, 2003 They are susposed to take the tarps up around 12:30 today, under the tarps the field is super soggy, the field crew does not think covering it helped the field, and also there is hundreds of gallons of water on top of tarps, hopefully it will dry out some before the games..
