Nice to see Jason, Chris, Zach, Mitch, Justin, Ernie, and Taylor all at least get mentioned for the Mavericks. I know the year ended with a bad note, but the team did give us alot of good times this year.

Just a note on a couple of players from other teams, I thought tht J.T. Powell and Cordello High deserved more than just honorable mention. They were IMO the MVPs of Bluefield and MV, I'd say the early playoff exits probably hurt them in the selections. Shame they won't be in the all-star game, I know they won't be running the single wing in that game, but if eitheer one of those 2 would've played in the kind of offensive system James Monroe and Giles has, they would've easily gained well over 2000 yds rushing on the year.

Cordero High is just a junior,so if you're referring to the north vs south game it's for seniors only. The reason Cordero didn't get any more than an honorable mention is due to the fact that he had to sit out the first 2-3 games, because he didn't have enough practices in to play in the first 2 games for certain.

You're right about High though if he were to play in the single wing offense he could easily get 2000 yards playing 10 games, but with Mount View you'll probably never see anyone kid get those kinds of stats simply, because of all the talent on the team. High will have a good shot next year at putting up numbers, because he will be the most experienced skill position player MV has.

MV won't have the experience at receivers position that they had this year with Smith and Hale who both graduate this year, and will also have a new qb,so I'd look for MV to run the ball more next year than pass,so High will be counted on heavily.
