I for one have no love for Giles and haven't seen Floyd but much like Bluefield this is Giles year. They had a tough schedule and lost a few games early but they are a senior oriented team and there is no reason for the mto lose to Floyd asside from just not coming out and playing.

This game will be very interesting, I for one would like to see what type of changes Floyd will make on Defense and on Offense. Floyd really played into Giles hands by coming out throwing the football when the running game worked so well. I look for a lot closer game if the real Floyd will show up and a 43-13 beating doesn't do it nothing will. The blocked punt really got the ball rolling for Giles it was all down hill from there. Floyd's only played one good game all year and that was down at Bassett. It didn't help none a good part of the senoirs and some Jr's on the team got in some pretty big trouble Halloween weekend with an out of control party and we didn't know if we were going to be with out those players or not till mid week. I think Giles will win this game with a great offense if we win it will be because of Giles looking ahead or us with a total diffrent attitude . I just hope we leave it all on the field friday night after you guys went up 30-13 Floyd just packed it up I don't know if it was the fact we would likely play you again or what. I don't know if this team has the composure like the team of 2001 did. Sometimes I think they have and sometimes I think we don't we could have lost to East Mont. if not for some very bad special teams play the had. They ran and passed all over us, No joke on that one. My take on it all Either Giles or Powell Valley(Powell Valley was at Floyd Friday by the way) will be playing Manassas Park in the Title game. If I was in your shoes Mountain Man I would be feeling pretty good about Friday night then again I feel the same way I did in 2001 down out before the second game.Who knows. Either way it's going to be fun.

I also believe it will be much closer. I think the biggest factor may be the weather. I haven't seen Floyd this year, but I know, especially from watching highlights of the East Montgomery game, and a preseason scrimmage with James Monroe, that Giles, while it has a very powerfull offense, does tend to be a little turnover-proned. Granted the scrimmage was without Cook, but the E. Montgomery game wasn't, and judging from their performance offensively when Cook was hurt against Blacksburg in a 21-7 loss, they'll be in trouble if he gets hurt in a close game at this point.

Giles is a very good team, and they reming me a little of James Monroe 2 years ago with their huge linemen, but if they keep putting the ball on the ground, they can forget about having much success in the playoff. If they eliminate that problem, and stay healthy though (especially Cook), they'll be very hard to beat during the playoffs.

Turnovers have been very little this year. Against East Mont, The 1st string was out of the game by the 2nd quarter, and the back ups fumbled a few times. Other than that, even against Glenvar in the rain and mud, Giles had no turnovers. They are fundamentally sound right now. They have to stay that way in order to win this game. They cant let Floyd control the game.
