Galax with a gigantic clutch drive there that really tore into the clock and the game is tied 7 a piece with only 2 minutes left in the half. The Maroon Tide faced 2 fourth downs in the scoring drive. Galax with a couple clutch catches on the sidelines in that drive.

Definitely better off getting away from Grundy, but overall competition might not get easier because Poquoson has like 10 titles and Strasburg has about 5. But, anytime you can get away from Grundy, you are in good shape. I still think Poquoson and Strasburg will kind of form that 2 team hump for Riverheads like Grundy and Rural Retreat has in Class 1. Could be wrong though.

For state title winners, we often see a super senior at the helm, an elite type player thst just dominates and has D1 offers. This favors Riverheads and Graham and Radford and not Union and not Poquoson. The thing is, I think Union is as good or better than all of em, but historically going by odds, this goes against Union. So many times, an Appo team with Scruggs or Trey Lawing or Graham with the Defensive stud who had D1 offers last year or Graham with Cam Allen in 2018 or King William with Claiborne. We see the picture over and over. This year, 3 seniors with D1 offers in Clark from Radford, Clements from Graham, and Cash from Riverheads. With all of the above written, I think Union wins the state championship.

The team they play in football in the semis will be a load in wrestling for the Big Red. The Bull Islanders are a machine in wrestling much like Riverheads is, and they have a lot of titles.

Deep down, and zero chances they would admit this, but the Princeton coaches know tonight's game is the last win of the season. It's just an entire different level of football with Martinsburg and Huntington. Not to mention, a gigantic student population difference between them and Princeton which speaks to why WV should arguably go to 4 classifications. For Princeton, the season is more than a success. It's very close to bordering a title. It's not a title for sure, but their season will be talked about for decades. Princeton has I think 850ish students? They have zero business in the WV Triple A state title game being that small of a school for the highest level of football classification in WV. It's really amazing what they have done in my opinion.

Not me Union Fan, I respect your opinion, but I think film, NFHS, You tube is the same or better. I haven't seen one NFL team in person this year nor have I seen Ohio St, Georgia, Bama, or Oregon, but I think the film/tv is accurate enough for me to assess them. The same holds true for the SEC coaches. I doubt if any of them have seen Ohio St or Washington this year in person, but I'm certain they have a good idea about how good or not good Washington and Ohio State are.

Heck of a show by Princeton 2023. They are competing at the highest level/highest classification of West Virginia football and playing for the state championship. A great moment whenever a team from the coverage area plays for a title.

No question. Martinsburg plays defense. Bridgeport is the smallest AAA school in WV and Princeton is the 3rd or 4th smallest I think. Remarkable feat for either of them to make it to the title game though. With Martinsburg, we are talking abut a team with some historic national recognition versus a very good in state school. It will be no contest.

It might be approaching a West Virginia state record for most points scored in 1 quarter by 2 teams and might be approaching the record for total yards between 2 teams in one quarter.
