Last season Mark Frye quit after the beat down they took in the Haysi scrimmage, that left Prater 1week before the season started he had to go with what was already planed for. Plus Frye stayed on as an assistant last year and that group of Seniors were his boys, he coached them from middle school on and they went undefeated in 8th grade. Too many things going on for Prater to change to what he wanted last year. In the last 4 games of the season he started mixing in some shotgun (spread) but IMHO I don't believe Call had a strong enough or accurate arm to run the spread, he was a good runner though. As for the run game this year #21 has the size and some speed to be a good RB, he broke his foot at the first of the season and never could get going and line play was not always the best on run blocking. I was on of the few this year not surprised to see them come out in the spread and throw the ball around, I told several people at the end of the season last year to expect Doane to be the QB and they come out slinging the ball.

They lost to Galax, Bland in OT and to GW (went for 2 and missed final 28-29). Their quality wins- NW, PH, also beat two 2A teams Tazewell and Marion, and Auburn in the 1st round.

What is this kickers range?

I know it's late, but what are the thoughts on this game?

It was on both sides.

Humphery worries me too, not only him but any team with a good running attack. I think NW's run defense is a little weak or they play bend don't break to much. Everybody they have played this year has been able to run on them for the most part. I think IF they can keep him in check (he is going to get his yards no doubt in my mind)and not let him socre everytime he touches the ball I think it will be a close game.

There will be several points to be had by the winner. Could also jump the winner into the top 8 with a home playoff game. I know this used to be a big rivalry game. Saltvile town limits go into Washington Co., some areas of Washington Co. the people have to drive through Saltville to get to PH, I have seen best friends that are neighbors go to different schools I have even seen siblings living the the same house split, some go to PH and the others go to NW. How do you see this game going?

Now to the game. I didn't get to see GW play this year so I only know what I've read. I think this game will be close with GW and their speed coming out on top by a score of less than 7 points.

Their Freshman class is a very talented group, no doubt. As bad as I hate to admit it you are right "I wouldn't run the score up on his Warriors this year" they will be back to the old Chilhowie sooner than later. They have been in just about every game this year, they just don't know how to finish yet or they give up too soon. I can't believe my 100th post and I am talking about a school I love to HATE.

I wasn't counting either of those schools because of that.lol But if you look at the actual head waters of the Middle Fork it starts very close to where I live now and that is at the Wythe/Smyth county line in Groseclose/Rural Retreat. I still agree that it doesn't run through either.

Chilhowie will play hard, untill they are 2 scores down.

They have been in the HOGO 3 times why not a 4th. lol They don't want them either.

I know nothing about the transfers, but after coaching pee wee this year it all comes down to instant gratification. Kids today don't see the big picture they have blinders on and only see whats straight infront of them. I am sure it was a case of Grundy is on a roll and RV was not. JMO. I don't take a side on the whole transfer thing, it just didn't happen very often when I played. I only rembemer 1 transfering to our school and he caught so much hell, more than the freshmen. lol

Just throwing a little geography out there, in this line up 4 of the 6 schools that the Hogoheegee Rivers run through are not in the proposed new HOGO. I do however like a little shake up.

I'm pretty sure he was a Soph. my Sr. year. I knew or still know most of the guys that played for PH in the mid 90's, there were several times I was asked to move in with my oldest sister that lives in Glade so I could play for PH.

Plywood, I know Marion's enrollment is around 660. With those numbers why is there only about 30 players on the team? I know the band numbers have been droping the last few years also whats going on, on the other side of Walker Mountain? Ridgeview pulls it out in the 4th quarter.

I would be interested in the HOGO stats, I know already that your going to do the SWD.
