GC up 27-11. McClung with a nice behind the back pass to Ervin that ends with a dunk. GC now up 41-19 with 1 min left in the 2nd. The Devils came to play today as a team.

I hope Dan River woke up the Blue Devils.

Dean is #1. I didn't even mention him because I had already heard that he was very timid in this game and he never scored a point. I didn't hear anything about Collier really...Kinda wondered what happened with him. Ervin is normally a really good shooter. So knowing he was off and Dean didn't even score and GC still led the game for 3 qtrs and was close to pulling it out is encouraging. Ervin's biggest flaw is his ball handling skills when he goes inside with it. If he could clean that area of his game up he would be as dangerous as Mac. I like GCs chances if they meet DR again.

Question for some of you guys that went to the game. Did Ervin have a rough game...Or was Mac just doing so much damage that Ervin didnt really get too involved? I mean for Mac to have 64 alone I feel like there wasn't that many more possessions to be had for Ervin or Collier to get involved. When you score 84 pts offense obviously is not the issue here. If GC would have had a pulse on defense in the 4th and had rebounded decently the game was theirs to lose.

If Richlands will play some D and get hot from behind the arc I think they have a shot.

Sounds like Mac doing his thing was working out pretty good until they botched the 4th qtr. As bad as it sucks for Devils to lose this one....I feel pretty good about their chances if they happened to get a rematch. A couple ways I guess you could look at it.....The odds of Dean going scoreless and Ervin scoring just 12 is slim if they play again. However, the odds of McClung scoring half of what he did tonight is feasible but scoring 64 I doubt will happen. GC just needs to rebound and play defense like they did against Graham and I think they will be okay. But getting them to do that is a different story. Great City.....Did Ervin just not play well or did he just not get many chances to shoot the ball with McClung scoring so much? And what was the case with Dean and Collier? I know you said Dean was timid...But did Collier just not seem to get open any or what? If McClung was scoring that much you would think there was some other guys wide open at some point.

But if Richlands wins it will seem alot less boring in the end as compared to GC leading most all of the game in a score-fest then pissing it away in the final qtr lol

I was worried about Dean after his decline since the Arbys. He's seemed timid ever since. Kimbler I have seen pull up on 2 or 3 wide open layups throughout the season...For what reason I dont know. So you saying they were timid doesn't shock me. And them not rebounding doesn't surprise me either. But letting DR score 35 in the 4th when they only allowed 61 in 3 qtrs is insane. GC must have literally layed down on the rebounding side of things or was just that worn out.

DR wins it 96-84. Suck it up GC and get ready for Saturday.

Well Mac went off in the game but looking like the Devils are gonna lose this one after leading most of the game. Either Mac was the only one wanting to play or DR just decided to let Mac have all the points he wanted and shut down everyone else.

Oh I figured DR would be as good or better than Graham. Was hoping they would keep up the defensive intensity that they brought the other night. Oh well...It was nice while we got to see it for one night. Keep it up Blue....Keep pouring it in!

GC played really good defense against Graham I thought. Hadn't seen them play that well all year...But it was proof that they more than have the ability to play stifling D. They just won't do it. I said it a few times before this game started....I'd be ecstatic if DR tried to guard Mac 1 on 1. GC may not win but with them playing him like that GC will have a shot.

GC leads 19-17 at the end of the 1st Qtr. Must have a pretty good pace going in this game so far. Not sure if it's right but think I seen where Mac had 16 of GCs 19 pts. The kid is ridiculous!

Is there anyone that posts on here that's at the game? If so, what's the crowd like? and post a few updates if you could please.

GC and Richlands play tonight and two more games afterwards no matter what. Either team could lose tonight and Saturday and still win the state title. It's the game next Friday that's win or go home. The games played tonight and Saturday are to determine seeding for the state quarters

Having a fast paced game will play into the hands of GC. As long as DR doesn't try to slow the game down and grind it out down low in the paint ill take it.

Well I got screwed at work and won't be getting to watch either game....No matter where its played. Would like to see both GC and Richlands win though. Might have to have the croop come Saturday and make myself present for the game if they both win.

I'll take Richlands 61-52. I have no clue about Chatham other than they beat DR once early in the season then got smoked by DR in the 2nd matchup.

I think GC wins in a very close one if they take the ball to the rim like they did Tuesday. I think it will come down to making FTs to seal the deal in the final minute. If GC settles for a bunch of 3s and then chooses not to rebound, DR will snatch up easy rebounds and burn GC on fast break layups all night....And possibly get the Devils into foul trouble. I think this game could easily go both ways. Good luck Blue...Wish I could be there tonight. I'll say: 68-62

Yea... seen that walk. Unfortunately there was alot of questionable calls. The biggest thing I seen is the refs didn't call the game consistently. It's hard for both teams to get a feel for the game when the refs are changing up what they are calling from qtr to qtr. However, I will say that I'd never ref a game. It's a tough job. Just wish we could get some slightly more consistent refs in SWVA.

I thought GC played better defense tonight than they did against Union last week... Stepped it up a bit after the first qtr. They also rebounded the ball better as well. Martin is a great player...I thought GC played him pretty well. He's gonna get his points no matter what. A few sloppy passes by GC in the 3rd qtr that led to back to back 3s by #24 cut the lead to 9 and swung momentum big time in Graham's favor. But McClung and Ervin would answer quickly to slow the bleeding. The GMen fought a full 4 qtrs....And I fully expected that. McClung had some big time rim shakers tonight....He played a great game. And Ervin had a really good game as well. However, I think Collier had the biggest game of anyone. He picked up the slack from a lack of production from Dean and the other guys and rebounded the ball really well.
