I think on defense for Union the linebacker play will be exceptional and give them a great chance to win. 45 Kennedy and 23 Bryce Lane have had a heck of a year and have only gotten better in the playoffs. 12 Zirkle is no slouch either.

I appreciate you acknowledging that Unions one deminsional offense is actually something for you all to worry about. Most appo fans wouldn't. We have a ton of respect for the raiders. I've called last years version the best high school team I've ever seen. But that was 2016. This is a new year with New raiders and new bears. Thank god lol. As for the atmosphere, I promise you all haven't seen anything like this. It may be the most electric the park will be since the late 90s and that's saying something. With pretty much all of SWVA coming, it's gonna be insane. You all have probably played in front of a larger crowd, in a larger stadium, against better teams. But not this. I guarantee this will be the first visit you all have ever made where the fans will be at the park by midnight on the night before.

Last year if Union would have won, they would have shocked the world. Everyone knows what it was like last year. Appomattox was head and shoulders above everyone and deep down all the Union fans news we would have to be thrilled with just a close game. Dare I say the script is flipped this year? No, Union isn't as good as last years Appo team and Appomattox is still the two time champs. I'm not saying that Union will win by 40 or that Appomattox fans should just hope for a close game, but the general idea is that Union should be favored.

Good information, thanks! I figured Graves was a bit of a better player than Cooke, but I trust Unions team defense on that front. What worries me is Graves getting over the top and outrunning our secondary.

This ^^^ What's going to play big into unions favor is the matchup. Appomattox is sensational against the pass, but they are weak against the run. Their fans will tell you that, Giles fans would tell you that and I'd bet Glenvar fans would say the same thing. It doesn't matter if they know what's coming, if we execute then it doesn't matter. Ask Graham. I'm sure they knew exactly what was coming but 4 yards here, 5 yards there and 3 yards on 3rd and 2 will be plenty on the offensive side. I'm waiting to watch some film on their offense before I comment on that.
