  1. Congratulations to Appomattox, and good luck next week. Congratulations to the Bears on a great season, I hate to see it end for the Seniors on this team, a great run from a great group of young men. Glad I was able to watch you all this year!!  From what I saw it was a class act from Appomattox team and fans. Very well coached. Much respect for the pre game prayer. As for the game, a tale of two halves.......Appomattox won the 1st half, and Union won the 2nd.....just couldn't overcome getting down that much early. Special teams was a killer.........

The d line play from Appomattox was exceptional, kept the Bears struggling all day long. Hats off to both teams on a well played season. Good luck Appomattox, this Bears fan is pulling for you next week!!!

I hope all that was injured today was nothing serious and everyone makes a full recovery.

As for the refs, I will not say I agree with all the calls they made. I do not believe that a referee or a crew can cost you a ballgame. That being said if Union plays their ballgame, should be no questions of the out come. We lost special teams today. We gave up 20 in the first half, and 3 in the second half. So no the refs did not lose this ballgame. We scored 0 in first half and 20 in the second half. So hats off to Appomattox, you guys where the better team today!!!!

  2. Against Graham, I think Union tackled well in space. I think it is key this week against Appomattox. I think the linebacker play of Kennedy and Lane will help shut down the slant!! Secondary play will be big, but I agree Graves needs to be doubled. Somebody jamming him on the line and someone playing over top of him. I seen it against Graham towards the end of the game they walked Hamilton out on Cooke and had Qualls covering him over top. The front 7 is key I think, getting pressure on the QB and not allowing him to get free and limiting the big gains. I'm not predicting a score because I have seen very little of Appomattox. I do think Appomattox will be shell shocked traveling down to Bullitt Park and experiencing the atmosphere at the park.

I think they will will run the ball well, the tandem of Mitchell, Owens, Jenkins, and Zirkle is going to be hard for any defense to stop. Also with Qualls and Polier capable of running the ball!!!!

    GO BEARS!!!!!!

  3. I'm really shocked that Graham didn't try and get the ball into Cooke hands more often!! The Bears D played well today, I noticed a lot of great open field tackles made that cut down on some big runs from Graham.

My opinion the Bears have the best front 7 in the last few years that I have seen. Not to shabby on offense either, Mitchell is a big playmaker and capable of changing the game on one play, but also Owens, and Jenkins have the break away speed to do the same. Zirkle has the down hill type running and always keeps those legs churning. Definitely a fun team to watch, and just imagine the possibilities in the passing game this team would have if Turner doesn't get injured!

Going to be a fun Saturday next week, I hope everyone comes out to support the Bears!!@
