Yeah I talked to someone there close to the team also and they said it was really bad. Said that they wasn’t able to practice any so if they do get to play, they will have no preparation for it.

Yeah not looking good. I guess we all just wait until Thurs to see what happens now. My guess only is if and it's a big if. Union has more then 8 starters out game don't get  played.

  2. My source has told me the game has been moved to Saturday not for weather its to give union time to see if they even going to have enough to even play. Source has said that almost the entire team has the flu now. Including coaching staff good thing we have 25 coaches. It will be decided by late Thurs if Union will forfeit the game due to sickness. Not looking good in the bear den.

If the bears that have showed up and played the last 3 weeks show up this 1 wont even be close. Now if the bears from week 1 to 7 show up who knows. I'm going Union 38 gate city 7. If it's that close let the revenge tour begin.

Might have to go back on this as the week goes on seems like the bears might have been attacked by the flu bug. Hope it doesn't hit the entire team and the ones who have it get better and can play Friday.

  4. Unions 3 losses were 17 to 8 against Graham. 3 points scored in the 2nd half of that game. 23 to 16 against gate city and the coaching staff fell apart in the 2nd half of that game. Finally 20 to 11 against the pack. I'm not taking nothing away from those 3 teams at all just my opinion here. Not saying union could have or should have won all 3. Just saying that if union can throw the ball and play defense like they did last night. Watch out the bears could hurt some feelings come mid to late November. Plus I know the bears like playing at home but they ain't scared to go on the road either.

  5. I know I've bashed and complained about Union all year. But if they play like they did tonite. Union will be the team out of region D. Hard to stack the box when they can throw the ball like they did tonite. Plus the defense hasn't given up more then 23 points in a single game.

  6. Appalachia at gate city 1993. Appalachia was losing late and I think it was 4th down and long and Coach Tom Turner took a timeout. And instead of talking to his team he went out and asked Coach Houseright if he wanted to go fishing later. Needless to say Appalachia ran a hook and ladder scored on the play, the place went nuts im positive the concrete bleachers were moving that night appy won the game late with a pick on defense. Pretty sure houseright talked about this on the old lpd show they use to do on channel 10 for us old folk. Gate City folks should be able to remember this as well.

You realize that Union couldn't possibly run this against Ridgeview.  They would of had single coverage on every RV WR which would have went poorly for Union.  This is the importance of an exceptional WR who impacts the defensive coverage and alignment more so than a RB.

You do realize that Ridgeview doesn't use the beavers kid they way they need too as well. Just straight deep balls for him. He is an excellent athlete which calls for slants deep outs in routes. Get him the ball in space. In my opinion you run a 4-3 or a 5-2 against Ridgeview with 2 high safeties and the ability to stop O'Quinn from killing you on 3rd and long with his legs.

  8. I can remember playing Lee high in 98 as a sophomore and Pappy Satterfield was a senior and I meet him in the hole once and was watching him run all the way to the house on my back. Tough night for Appalachia that night. As Satterfield and Co put it on us 49 to 3.

  9. And for the life of me I've never ever understand how offensive linemen are taught to get to the next level and block when they have a defensive linemen in front of them. Blows my mind. I understand trying to get next level but if you can't block man in front of you how can you get next level. No wonder our backs can't get no where and if you think I'm wrong go watch the film of course they going to look good blocking corners and safeties but  d-line and backers are killing the backs.

  10. Well after watching the bears thru 6 games out of 7. I'm going to go with Central making that short trip to the not so scary bullet park no more and win comfortably. I was wrong last week on the score but still correct in my pick. The bears will make a game of it but poor coaching, time management and undisciplined players will ruin their chances. This has to be the most undisciplined team I've ever seen. I'm going central 28 the bears 17

The real difference in why Ridgeview won this game is simple... the Hammer's train horn or lack thereof.  It definitely cost the Pack the game last year.  The fact that his hammer sounded more like a rusty old Buick on its last legs Friday night made all the difference this time.  😄

🤣🤣🤣🤣 the Hammer doesn't bring the horn no more. Them horns u heard were drill operated. But nice try ill have to tell him you where asking about him. He doesn't get on here no more after the meltdown of certain coaches had on him. Its really shameful the way he was treated that dude was just a super fan never had a kid play for union just loved high school football and for them to treat their most loyal fan is disgraceful and it looks that karma might be biting them this year for it. But enough about the hammer. Ridgeview just wanted it more this past Friday night then the bears. The bright spot thou is Ridgeview should have won this game 9 seniors on offense and the U playing all those underclassmen and held their own. It will be back to status quo from here on out especially after O'Quinn leaves next year as well. He will look good wearing orange.

Possibly, I couldn't remember for certain.

Is kinda funny how many suggestions on here were implemented last night. Haha

Somebody looks like he knows what he is talking about uh. Maybe they should have listened to Unionshammer last year. Just saying IMO

Well I knew they weren’t gonna win but a 3 point game with 9 minutes left isn’t exactly over.  I think they played good tonight just couldn’t get a 3rd or 4th down stop and too many penalties AGAIN

I would agree with the penalties are killing them its week 7 and your still getting those bonr headed penalties. That is a direct reflection of coaching. Plus I noticed tonite on all most every run play the offensive line was about 7 yards down field watching the ball carrier. Hate it for the kids but they are being let down. IMO
