It’s hard to win big games that are tough match ups if you have “me” players. Football ain’t an individual sport say like golf and it takes a well oiled machine so to speak to win big games.

CalPreps has Radford 35-28 winning over Appo. At the beginning of the season a lot of folks were giving Radford, region C . Can Appomattox pull the upset? I mean no disrespect because I’m sure he’s a great guy otherwise but Crist to me is Radford’s Achilles heal. Appomattox has the coaching advantage going into this matchup, hands down. Radford has a very talented slate of players but is talent alone enough to pull them over the top? I see this game as a toss up but I could be wrong.

Let me preface that I could be totally off base here. I’m not sure Lebanon pulls this one off. It’s probably a barn burner and Grundy squeaks it out. I don’t believe Lebanon has more weapons than Grundy. They do have some athletes that may be better than some of Grundy’s counterparts but likewise, Grundy had some athletes to answer Lebanon’s threat. Should be a really good game.

Yeah, I ain’t going to get my boxers in a wad & go off and cause GMan to drop the hammer on me, lol. I’m a big boy, I can take it! 😂😂😂. I don’t own any Charmin stock 😂😂😂. Honestly, the Ridgeview campus is nice! I was very impressed the first time I saw it. That’s a good use of tax dollars.

I’ll be the first to say in the state championship game last year, KW was the better team that day.

Inquiring if your team can outpoint another team to get to play at home if you make the playoffs isn’t really looking ahead but if you want to call it that , I’m guilty. 😂😂 Anyone that’s been on this board for any length of time can attest to my stance that it’s always one game at a time & stay focused on the week at hand. As far as Rose Ridge, that campus is quite impressive. I’ve seen lots of high schools in my day & compared to the thriving metropolis of Tazewell & the high schools in Tazewell County, Ridgeview is above & beyond as far as facilities in my opinion. (That’s a compliment by the way, lol)! 😉

“Blue Collar” , you think Tazewell is full of white collar folks 😂, the “big city” of Tazewell is about as rural blue collar as you can get , lol. Enjoyed the laugh though! 😂

I doubt Graham would use him as the QB; they’d utilize him elsewhere but I’m no coach. I can’t see that kid leaving Tazewell, lol.

Graham doesn’t do field house tours like another county team used to do, lol. I’m sure the kid is staying put, 😂. Like I said, we have a very good QB next year in Roberts.

I’m presuming at the time, he didn’t realize he wouldn’t be the coach as he yelled that across the field. That’s why I said, “former coach”.

I can assure you that neither the Graham coaches, players, nor fans are counting out Gate City. Tony Palmer & his staff do a great job of keeping the boys focused on the task at hand and not looking ahead. I believe RV’s former coach told Tony Palmer after last year’s championship game, he’d see Graham again next year & the outcome would be different. Now, that’s looking ahead 😂😂😂.

I agree with this, super good athlete and great at short passes. He’s got a hitch in his throw though. I really think he’d be very beneficial on the defensive side of the ball. I’m not sure why they don’t utilize him more in that way.

Yeah, I don’t know of any Graham fan who is that interested in Union’s coaching staff or who played pro-ball or whose kid gets preferential playing time, lol. But hey, if he wants to come cheer on the GMen against Gate City, I’ll save him a seat 😂😂😂😂. “Go GMen”!

I kind of feel like you’re a Union person dissatisfied with the coaching staff & no really a Graham fan. 😂😂😂

It could be after a short week of practice & not their best performance against Central, they wanted an extra day to prepare. I’m not saying we played badly but we’ve played much better this year.

I think teams that have a consistent strength & conditioning program get a leg up from the get go before teams that do not. I’m speaking in generalities not tooting Graham’s horn specifically. I just think some programs are hit & miss when it comes to the off season and others remain more focused year round. That probably shows up on the playing field during the regular season. Side-note: @TRidge No one is giving Graham a ring this year or any year. There’s a lot of football left to play. Any given match up, any team can be beaten including the GMen. Every win has to be earned. Commenting the middle school, JV, & varsity all went undefeated means simply that. One doesn’t just speak a winning program into existence, it takes hard work.

Serious question, how did Gate City decide on Blue Devils as a mascot? Legion Field name? (Legion was a demon in the Bible, right?) Was there a cult of Satanist’s down that way back then? 😂 I truly am just curious.

I’m out of reactions, but thanks to all the. Tazewell & Richlands folks for your support. Graham doesn’t always have the most enthusiastic fan base so some of us appreciate the extra bodies in the stands to support our players!
