  1. Congrats to Cam, great job, young man, well deserved. Your cousins in Alaska, (Jacob & Jordan) are proud of you. Make us all proud, we'll be watching. Don't know about any other area signers as of now. Someone please keep us posted.
  2. If you notice my post, I'm not the only one who feels this way and its not pointed at any particular team, it was intended for the officiating crew. This happens year end and year out, and I'm sure others would agree with me. Thanks for backing Graham against Goochland.
  3. I think Graham was the best team in the area, and that includes Bluefield. Graham would beat Beaver by at least a TD if not more, if they played this weekend. Afterall Graham has a trophy that proves how great a team they had this year, where's Beavers trophy, oh yeah, that's right, they didn't get one. Hats off to Graham the true champion of the area
  4. Congrats to the Gmen, enjoy this championship, you deserve it.
  5. Totally agree. It's just the fact that SWVA has a team in the final, and the out east guys can not stand the fact that their teams are getting thumped. Way to go Graham, and hope you guys enjoy this championship. Also glad that an old friend, (Dennis Palmer) can enjoy another state championship, he really improved the Gmen defense throughout this year. Good job to all of the coaches and players. Gmen fans please enjoy this championship at least until you have to play Richlands again, can't wait for August 2019 to get here. Go BLUES!!! Yeah, I had to say it.
  6. Thanks for the info, I'll be listening and cheering for the Gmen to bring home the hardware. Go Gmen
  7. Can not attend the game, but can we listen to it on a local radio station. If so what are the call numbers
  8. Wish Coach Houseright the best, and hope the program gets back on track. Can't wait to see the Blue Devils and the Blues next year. Good lick Coach
  9. Don't know the answer to your question, but welcome to the board and even though I'm a Richlands true blue fan, I along with several more Blues fans, hope the Gmen bring home the trophy. GO GMEN!!!
  10. Glad to hear that for the GC team, hope the program gets back to where it use to be. Houseright should be a good fit and I'm looking forward to seeing the Blue Devils play the Blues next year. You GC fans make sure you continue to support the HC and team. Good luck.
  11. Yeah, been wondering that myself.
  12. So which direction do you think they are going? I think they would be well advised to hire someone outside of the GC extended family, and try a new approach. GC will always be a football town, and the right coach can bring them back to what they should be. GC fans are true to their team, but they need to allow the new coach and his assistance, time to bring them back. Wish the best for GC, but think they need to change the atmosphere with the HC hire. Good luck
  13. Hats off to the Gmen for the victory. Stay healthy, play smart, and bring that shinny trophy back to SWVA. Go Gemen!!!
  14. Graham is going to have to play their game and know that this will not be a gimme game for sure. As long as the coaches keep the players from imploding, I think Graham wins by a TD or more. Both teams deserve to be there, and I'm glad to know that SWVA is going to be represented, but the state championship games I have seen usually come down to penalties, attitudes, and turn-overs. I hope both teams play injury free and show good sportsmanship. Go Graham, bring home the hardware!!!
  15. Although I'm not a big fan of Bluefield, I've always loved to see them play. Hope they bring home the hadrware.
  16. Heard a rumor that Richlands was picking up Ridgeview instead of Abingdon, any truth to this?
  17. If not for the turn overs, Graham would be playing Appo, and sometimes the best team don't win in football, its the team with the fewest mistakes. In this case, Appo had the turn overs, and Radford came out the winner, other than the turn overs Appo was the better team. Turn overs will come back to hurt you as was the case in this game, but I think Graham will be the better team with more talent, but once again it could come down to those pesky turn overs. Go Gmen!!
  18. With what I've heard and what I've seen in the past, the Gmen have a very good chance of winning it all. The Radford team is a good team but I don't think they will not be able to handle Grahams attack offense, and their big offensive plays. I think Graham has a chance to be the team to beat in the final, no matter who they play from the east. I'm going out on a limb, but its a strong one, and say Graham wins it all. Go Gmen, make SWVA proud.
  19. Hats off to Graham and as promised in my post, we all are now pulling for the Gmen. I think Graham has a good chance to bring the hardware back to SWVA and I hope they stay injury free the rest of the way. Cam Alley is my grandson's first cousin. My grandson's live in Alaska and listen to all the games via internet and they love to rub papaw when the Blues loose, but I'm glad Cam is having a good season, and hope the Gmen go all the way. One Blues Fan that doesn't care to say the Gmen are the most talented team in SWVA this year and I believe they will win State. Go Gmen!!!
  20. remember when Richlands and Tazewell played for a Regional Championship, not sure the year, but Muncy was the big name in Tazewell back then and it snowed and was cold as all get out, but it ended up being one of the best games to see. If the rain doesn't effect either team, I think this will be a good game, but can't help to believe that the rain may slow things down somewhat. Never played on turf back in our day, but hope for no injuries on a slippery turf.
  21. Prediction of rain Saturday. Even though their playing on turf, which team will be effected the most?
  22. Seems like same old stuff to me, no one wants to give Richlands a chance. I for one think Richlands is out-talented in this game, and if you look at it on paper the Blues should just stay home and enjoy Thanksgiving, but the game is not played on paper, and any given game can be a shocker. No one expected the Blues to beat Ridgeview and I only picked them to win by 3, but still had doubts. I believe this game will be a closer contest than most think and it will be a fight to the end. I'm pulling for the upset with far fetched hope, but don't count Richlands out until the fat lady sings, and I already know some of you will say, "well she's warming up now." LOL Best of luck to both teams. GO BLUES!!!
  23. I hope the Blues can pull the upset, but I will pull for the winner of this game to defeat Appo. if they get that far. I know they always have a good team, but its time for someone from SWVA to bring home the hardware. Hope both teams play a good game with sportsmanship and no injuries.
