  1. Nope, 6 is about it with a win.  this game will decide 6-8. good luck to both.  Marion takes care of Chilhowie, it's not a question.  VHS losing to PH was crucial as the JSB win was.  Battle should have beaten the cats, would have been very close to bumping Lee completely out.   Lebanon Losing to VHS, PH, and Mar sealed them.

  2. Absolutely, but I think this crew,  correct me if I'm wrong, had a couple games in the past several years with Mr Davis as white hat with a lot of questionable calls.  Not sure of the dynamics of it all,  but apparently they're not as thick-skinned as they should be.  Can't see the film well but looked like the abingdon kid potentially attempted an unwanted jersey swap. Lol

  3. Looked like typical abingdon,  big, fast,  but a little soft.  Can't see on film as well,  but I do believe ol coach turner struck a ref nerve early.  Not many favorable calls. Still trying to figure out last play of 2nd quarter. First down should have stopped clock,  but mismanaged by white hat,  penalty on abingdon wouldn't have happened. Might be the longest untimed play in football history.  Played 15 min lol.Officials again inconsistent, and I believe that guy is commissioner. Good luck to both,  hope Abingdon draws something favorable first round.

No parade down Main Street tonight like I said earlier in the week.   Tazewell never crossed the 50 yard line all night.  Regardless of WHO! Playing qb.  Creasy had 3 pics in 1st half lmao!! Not getting those numbers vs the good teams !!

Maybe, just maybe, the kid isn't as good as advertisers say or he just don't have enough around him? Just seems like he is injury-prone at some bad times. Getting beat consistently by Graham is a hard thing to change.  I believe they're better than the score last night,  but still not within 3 scores. Hope he's healthy for playoffs. With all the hype around him and R.V. qb, it's gonna be a hard argument now for U qb not to be #1 for post-season accolades.  1 and 2 in PP seems to be set.  Now 3-6 is dependent on gate city vs Ridgeview.

  5. It would be a good thing just for some young athletes to understand why they're trying to perfect their skills all season.  J.V. usually playing less games (8) and it seems to always just kind of end abruptly with no real meaning.  Playing a tough little playoff format would be good and still not over-doing it because a J.V./M.S. dynasty ain't really of importance.  Rather, just to instill the need/attitude to get better throughout the season and have a reachable goal.

  6. Will always think that the top 4 in the Region should be it.  VH$L runs each division one extra week($) and makes bank.  There's always an exception somewhere, but sub-.500 teams shouldn't be in the post-season.  Soft scheduling is/becomes an issue.  Make the districts/conferences 6-8 teams so scheduling within the region(s) between the districts might carry a little more weight.  Don't reward(+2) for playing down a division.  At least schedule a respectable opponent that is in the hunt most often.  Points for beating a 1A team shouldn't be near the same as your own 2A division.  If I were 2A looking for a good game to schedule that's not within the region, I'm looking at who's in neighboring districts/regions and most often playing in late November to maybe get on the schedule regardless of division.

Head to head is first and foremost and the tiebreaker they look at first.

Except.... .when Gate City and Lee High are involved. I'm still scratching my head from 2 years ago trying to figure out what the hel& happened there.

I vaguely remember that but can't recall the decision to put lee in instead of gate city that season.  Gate city beat them I recall, but it was top 4 and they outpointed them when they picked up eastern Montgomery.  I think that was it, don't recall everything.

  8. Colley was great for a long time.  He done a lot with a little when you compare it to others around the region at that time but he had several good runs with some really good athletes.  Seemed to have a brilliant offensive mind.  I agree that he could do more than what's been done since the Dickenson consolidation.  I enjoy the Friday night Rivals while he's announcing.  He's the only  one around it seems if you watch and/or listen to NFHS/Radio/Streaming, that can actually paint a picture of what's going on during the game.

You Union boys have been crowing ever since you beat Graham.

Timing is everything,  you make a great point because a few have made salem reservations already lol. I just don't think the graham victory was as big a deal either.  They're not the same caliper as a season ago. Not to say they're not capable, they've just not looked like they normally do.  They usually progress mid- season into the playoffs better than most. With the potential for rematches coming up soon, who knows.  Union usually stumbles into the playoffs but they've been different as well.  End of the day, the order and pairings could still change quiet a bit and a not-so-good team could very well upset three higher seed and roll on through. It's still anyone's game. I love keeping up with points and pairings as much as the next guy but some just read too much into it.

  10. Abingdon just lined up and took it to Ridgeview who looked really bad tonight, ph had a great game plan but came up short,  central is that bad,  jsb is a player or two away from getting there, Graham still doesn't appear to be at potential, lots of head scratching this week in 1D and 2D. Points in both just got tight so the shuffling begins in rankings. Good luck to everyone the last few weeks to set up some great post season play.
