  10. A random observation while watching on NFHS. Despite being around 50 years old, Virginia High's stadium is in great shape. It seems stadiums maintained by municipal parks and rec departments (e.g. Gene Malcolm, Bullitt, Mitchell, Salem) tend to be better maintained than on-campus stadiums.
  11. Will Graham have its full roster next week?

  14. At one time, I had that issue of S.I. with Mike Keith in 'Faces in the Crowd". As you well know, it didn't matter the sport (football, basketball, baseball, track), he could do everything much better than anybody else. Off the top of my head, these are the best all around athletes from each of Smyth County's High Schools: the late Mike Keith-Rich Valley (1979), Johnny Wilson-Marion (1976), the late Gregg Belcher-Chilhowie (1981), Yogi Arnold-Saltville (1975), and the late Jon Griffin-Northwood (1994). I agree, Mike Keith was likely the best of the bunch.
  15. Was this the same year of the Fries game when Mike Keith scored all 42 of Rich Valley's points? Anyway, that entire '78 team was a special group. Many Marion fans, myself included, always pulled for the Steers.
  16. Wow, that's SWVA coaching legends. I'm guessing longtime Northside coach Jim Hickam, Homer's brother, was also a part of the group.
  17. My kids tease me by asking if the world was black and white when I grew up. 1974 Clintwood Green Wave 3 RB Worthy (Saltville) Shakers 0 Group A State Semi Final at Patrick Henry Johnny McFall vs Yogi Arnold
  18. I was at that1997 Gate City-Jeff Forest sitting in the JF section. I'm one of those blurry images.
  19. Seriously?!? That's coaching malpractice.
  20. IIRC, you made some new friends on that other site with this video
