Do you think high school will adopt the NFL rules as far as hitting the QB?(The Clay Matthews tackles/Body weight rule) I personally think if that rule and those type flags are here to stay then high school is when they need to implement it.
I wasn't saying anything about the Eastside TD being called back saying they should've or could've won...but saying Central isn't good. They weren't shutting down the Eastside offense...Eastside isn't that good either overall in my personal opinion. Central may be young but Ridgeview actually has good football players. Won't be close.
I'm hoping for a final score of 69-0 Ridgeview....i don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. If Eastside scored 27 and had one or two other TDs nullified due to penalties then Central wasn't exactly shutting them down defensively....then I personally think Ridgeview w/Adkins and Sexton could score 5 TDs each. Kicker might miss an XP....69-0. Could be 69-7...Central might find that Brickey kid on a big pass play and put themselves in position to get one in the end zone.
Welcome back! Went ahead and opened up the games for week 1. You have until 7pm on Friday, Aug. 24th to make your picks. Good luck this year!!! For the Thursday games, any picks made after 7pm on Thursday the 23rd will forfeit those two games. So get your picks in by Thursday since one Thursday game is a GotW. Remember to put total combined score on the GotW!
This games was very beneficial for both teams. Its rare two of top teams in the area get to test each other out before things really get started. The score doesn't reflect how tight the game really was.
I agree 100%. In my personal opinion that was a game featuring two of the top teams in the area and it was tight when the 1's were in there. Probably more beneficial than most benefit games as far as facing good competition.
I went to the Ridgeview/Chilhowie game. I think it was tied when the starters came out. 17 all I think? Possibly Chilhowie up by 3? I don't recall exactly? Chilhowie will prob go 9-1 this season. Ridgeview should be fine as the season goes along but they could use more of a passing game other than screen passes. Ridgeview was in control at the start but Chilhowie became more efficient as the game went on. I personally think it was a good game considering both teams should be good this year and this was a benefit game. I'm sure each will improve as the season progresses. I just hope the injury to Adkins is minor and that the #25 from Chilhowie is ok.
Mac McClung/Zac Ervin and the recent GC basketball success may have turned the youth into aspiring basketball players and it's possible that's having a negative affect on the football program.
