He does talk about recruiting. Let's be honest. How many kids in SWVA can compete at that level?

Great interview with Justin on the Tech Sideline channel.

Ridgeview can't come in over confident or the duo of Teasley and Buchanan will run wild. If Ridgeview can keep those two between the tackles it should be a good night for the Pack.
-
Thoughts on this Thursday night game?
-
Has anybody heard anything about something going on at Ridgeview? I haven't heard any specifics but some rumblings of something possibly happening.
-
Completely agree that they should work on their passing game if the score allows it. Hopefully it gets better as the season goes on.
-
What’s everybody’s thoughts on this one? Based on what I saw from Monday’s games, I would think Adkins will get a ton of carries. Lee had a hard time moving the ball against Union and probably won’t have much more luck against a good RV defense that gets to the ball.
-
“Offensively, we missed some wide open throws.”
Direct quote from Coach Tiller in today’s Dickenson Star. Guess I’m not the only “expert”.
-
The thing about this year is that people can go back and watch the games for themselves instead of taking somebody’s word for it. I stick by what I said because it’s true.
-
Ridgeview will not be able to throw the ball at all with their current QB. Receivers running wide open and he just chucked the ball up. The last offensive play looked like he just dropped back, threw it as far as he could and hoped for the best.
-
That is if Gate City beats Battle tomorrow. If Battle pulls the upset, Ridgeview will be the 2 and Gate City the 3. If Gate City wins, Ridgeview and Gate City will play for the 2 seed on Tuesday at Central.
-
If there is no football in Virginia, but Tennessee has it, I wonder if some of the potential college prospects end up moving across the border?
-
-
I’m surprised this picture hasn’t surfaced on here yet.
-
I'm going to go ahead and predict that he reaches 3,000 before halftime against Central in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

What are your thoughts on this one? I haven't seen Abingdon in person, but I've been told that they have a hard time stopping the run. If that's the case, how many yards does Adkins run for this week?

I hate to tell you, but this one won't come down to a field goal in double OT.
-
There is a major difference in a backup scoring a touchdown and leaving your starters in to run up the score. One thing of relevance that isn't mentioned is how much time is left in the game. I could somewhat see an argument if it's late in the 4th quarter, but if it's even early 4th it should be fair game for them to still try to put some points up. One youth league that I used to officiate in had a slaughter rule once a team was up by 28 points in the 2nd half. The trailing team got the ball at the 50 and kept it until they scored or turned it over. The chains were brought back in if they reached the 20. There were times that I liked this rule, but then other times it would kind of backfire. Most coaches would sub if it got to this point, but others would keep their defensive starters because they felt like the other team had an "advantage" because they got to keep possession of the ball.
-
-
What are your thoughts on this one? Does Ridgeview bounce back in a big way or are they still down after last week's loss to Union?
-
To say that officials are highly compensated is laughable to me. When I was an official, there were several times that I would leave my house at 3:00 and not return until after midnight. Most schools were nice enough to feed us, but there were some that didn't. On the nights that we didn't get fed, of course we had to stop and get something to eat on the way home. Add to that the cost of gas to and from a game that was sometimes a two hour drive, one way. Oh I almost forgot the verbal abuse that is lashed out at you during, sometimes before and after, the game. Most people have no clue what goes into being an official. All you see is what happens on the field on Friday night.
-
I'm sure they are referring to Sproles. Hill is good, with a lot of potential, but he's not reached stud status yet.
