It’s hard to say about this one. It’s a rivalry game so it could go either way. Chilhowie lost a lot of talent, however, keep in mind most of this year’s team played the second half of 13 games last season, so they do have a lot experience. Chilhowie does have some speed and has a QB that can throw the ball. Marion, I don’t know what they have this year. I guess we will find out soon.

Quinton is such an amazing player to watch. I’ve gotten to see him play several times over the years. The 1A tournament at VA High in 2016, which I thought he was a freshman, was my first time seeing him play. His speed and ball handling definitely sets him apart from others. Last year when they played Gate City in Radford, all eyes were on McClung, understandably so, but Quinton had a great performance as well. He seems to be a well mannered and disciplined kid on and off the court.

No, we’re all busy wth State week. You know, where we have all these events going on in the Chilhowie and Riverheads communities. Parties to attend and get togethers to make appearances at. Restaurants hosting football nights. Plus we got all this media frenzy thing going down. Oh my bad, you don’t know what State week is like.

New Day, New Topic! It game day fans. What an exciting day this is going to be. For the 1:30pm kickoff, the forecast will cloudy with a temperature of 53º and a 30% chance of showers. Kudos to Northwood for you hosting this event, shout out to Galax for producing this game for the NFHS Network, that is a huge deal for many who can't be there and they do an awesome job calling and filming a game. Message board peeps, I've enjoyed posting with all of you this season and myself, like most from Chilhowie we will be pulling for whoever wins this game and represents the West next week in Salem. Its an age old rivalry, probably had something to do with horse thieves stealing from one another in the 1800's.

Looks like they added some visitors bleachers since last time I was there. Parking will be an issue thats for sure.

Haha. Saltville will water the field and dig holes in it tonight so it won't be playable tomorrow. They'll be picketing in the streets protesting allowing Chilhowie in their stadium. And you think I'm kidding....

According to WCYB who was live just a few minutes ago at the school. VHSL is currently looking at the field with boots on the ground and are open to alternative sites other than Emory if they elect not to allow the game at Chilhowie. A decision will be made at 2:30pm.

VHSL has decided to give Chilhowie another shot at playing the game on their own field Saturday. The rain in supposed to stop tonight and several prominent citizens have persuaded the Trump administration to deploy a couple of Blackhawk Helicopters to dry off the field before kickoff.

No, its a month to month from date of purchase. I bought mine the day before the 1A state Championship game last year on 12/09/2017 because when they moved it to Sunday I couldn't go. It renews on that day each month. It was actually pretty good coverage and you could see a lot more obviously than you could in the stands.

It is so much more than that. It was earned by the VHSL power points system. Its home field advantage (self explanatory). Its the concession money that benefits the sports programs. It is the positive financial impact that the town businesses and community will benefit from. Its the community rallying around this team and hosting game day events and functions. Chilhowie is a small close knit community and feel these things were taken away from them without any consideration. Its one thing to know you were going to be playing at a neutral site for the last 4 weeks. Its another to change it less that 48 hours before the Kickoff!

Exactly, they don’t get involved with the weather they just inspect the field prior to to play make sure it’s in playable shape.

Yes and they already came and inspected it and after reviewing the field and facilities found that it is approved for state-semi football championship play.

You must be from Saltville or Marion. LOL. I've been concerned with Galax all year as a big threat to Chilhowie if they make it there. However, Galax's playing has been so inconsistent its so hard to tell what they really have. I've watched them on film several games and still not satisfied for myself. I'm traveling to Galax shortly to watch them live and in person, so I'll have a better opinion this evening. Who knows, Narrows may upset them, and Chilhowie get could upset too. Nothing is guaranteed this late in the season.
