I couldn't agree more!!

Giles Defense looked extremely strong early. Held Cburg to zero points for an entire half, didn't give up a single point against Blacksburg until the second team went in. Lost a game against Radford that was in no way a competitive contest from the start and then decided to change around the entire defense. Since that game and those Constant personnel/alignment changes weekly, teams have done whatever offensively they've wanted with zero resistance. Common sense would tell you what happened and the solution. Injuries can't be an excuse because we've had all the original starters all season with the exception of tonight. And on that note, I can assure you that one DB being out didn't give up 49 points again tonight. Heck, we even played Grayson without a safety a lot of times?!?! Couldn't have made it any easier for them

Wrong! And absolutely ridiculous. Since the Radford game, Giles has adjusted themselves right out of contention. Facts!

Probably wouldn't matter how many athletes a team has if they switch positions week after week and have no clue how to play their position. For example...Giles week one starting Defensive End is playing cornerback tonight. Rationalize that one for me?

They also passed up a former player that is currently the Co offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Chestnut Hill College. A former Auburn player that played college football and became a college coach. He's a young coach that could probably turn the program around. Not entirely sure what they would want in a coach if that wasn't it?

Didn't seem to help before, a lot of these current seniors were playing as sophomores and they are still losing

"Not that athletic" can still be more athletic than we've been.....

This teams talent got wasted too. A few years ago people were high on this current class of seniors. There's a couple that started in varsity as freshman, several as sophomores, and most as juniors. This is probably the most athletic as well as experienced group that has came through Giles in years. They returned their entire backfield too and still can't win. I'm not sure how long "the talent cycle" excuse can hold up

Narrows gets completely dominated on the line of scrimmage and their wing and prayer plays finally run out of luck. JM line will look like a road grader out there.

I get to be the man you got to beat the man but the district looks weaker this year and IMO Galax is returning to the pre Dixon era. It's definitely there for Giles to win it. Ft. Chiswell shouldn't be written off either

Who is the front runner do you think? Radford blasted Wythe and Galax worse than Giles, the only win between both of them are narrow wins against Carroll Co. Not exactly world beaters there and a Grayson team that struggles to put 14 points on the board. I would very well say Giles struggles have been slightly less than the other district competition. Giles wins against a very improved Blacksburg team, lost to Radford as they should have and dropped a heartbreaker to a 4-0 Narrows team. We'll learn everything we need too on Friday night. That game will set the tone for the remainder of the season I suspect?

The district seems completely wide open at this point. Grayson barely beat an atrocious Floyd team so we'll learn a lot come Fri night

Grayson has really struggled offensively, Galax and Wythe are both very winnable games this year as well as Ft. Chiswell. I wouldn't be shocked if Giles swept the district quite honestly. Tazewell could be a win with a little luck and BlueField is a waste of time even showing up.

The frustrating part is Giles db's were generally in good position to defend the majority of the passes but need some work with technique. Have to start turning and making a play on the ball and avoiding the PI calls. Even on the last TD catch, the DB had great position and could have easily been knocked down or intercepted. I think Giles wins that game 9 out of 10 times.

While that is true I would rather try to contain one player and a couple of wing and prayer plays than a solid all around team like the one that knocked Giles out last year. I just couldn't see Giles losing to them a 2nd time

I definitely agree and would love to see a Rd 2. The better team didn't win that game on the score board. I wouldn't have been as excited about seeing Narrows in the playoffs last year but Giles wins that game 9 out 10 times this year.

He practiced full yesterday so it's looking like he a Go for Friday

Haven't gotten a chance to see Blacksburg but Giles has been fairly impressive this pre-season. Defense looks dramatically improved and the entire backfield returning is never a bad thing. 34-21 Giles!
