OK  not everyone was comparing Polier to Adkins.  2 different style of runner.  I was comparing Polier to Sproles who proved that he was better at the same position than Sproles.  As far as last night goes, Polier did have a better night than Adkins but again, Not comparing him to Adkins.  This is in no means a dig at Sproles who is good against lesser competion but that's not his fault its the coaches who refuse or are too scared to play better competion, but pound for pound and at the same position Polier is better. Polier's off season workouts have proven to have paid off and he SHOULD be the M7 DPOY and based off the level of competion should also be looked at as OPOY.  Adkins is GREAT and will be GREAT at the next level but his coaches are not doing him any favors with the play calling.  When it comes to M& all district team and POY honors, they need to look at stats from M7 games and not stats from the games played against teams like Honaker, Shelby Valley ect. because those are artificial numbers and are not a true reflection of how a kid plays vs similar competition,  If this is the basis they vote on the YES POLIER WINS BOTH DPOY and OPOY in the M7

I wouldn’t say that last night proved that Polier is better than Sproles at LB. It’s almost dead even in my opinion. Polier is faster and taller. But Sproles might be bigger and is playing behind a inferior defensive line to 43. But the difference between the two is that Polier is a difference maker on the other side of the ball, Sproles is not. DPOY honors is a coin flip and I wouldn’t be mad either way, but OPOY is clearly Adkins. However having said this, 43 is the best two way player in the conference and region.

  2. Union wore down the RV defense, that was their game plan and it worked perfectly. RV has a small and inexperienced D-Line and it showed. Gotta give credit to the Union front seven too, they played tough. Overall this was a terrific game and hopefully we see the sequel in the playoffs at some point. However I have seen a lot of Adkins slander on this board today, and some saying Polier is better. I will say this, 43 has been the best two way player in the Conference since Mitchell graduated. And he’s probably the best two way player in the Region this year. He should be a D1 linebacker. Having said this, offensively, give me Adkins. I would like to remind everyone that 43 got almost 10 more carries than him last night which is a crime. Also, people have short term memory as they forgot what happened the first play from scrimmage. Unions game plan was to keep him off the field, and it worked. The time of possession difference was insane. Players like these two don’t come around often in this area so let’s just appreciate them instead of slandering either.

  3. I understand that, but it only adds to this rivalry. I’m sure centrals kids have a huge chip on their shoulder after those two embarrassing games last year. I know kids on both sides and they straight up don’t each other. I hope it doesn’t get out of hand. Should be a good game and atmosphere.

  4. This will be closer than a lot of people think. Wise seems on the way up, but looks like they are a year away from really contending in that conference. This is a bad matchup for them as well, it’s hard to beat Ridgeview at their own game, especially with a D1 running back. Should be a shootout though, RV has a young defense. 42-29, Ridgeview.
