.... are on a very impressive run over the last 6 days. They've defeated:
Defending 1A champ Honaker
Defending 2A champ Wise Central
KHSAA Sweet 16 participant Letcher County Central
I think they’ve definitely surprised some people. Me included. They seem to have a lot of scoring depth and have had multiple girls in double figures or close most games from what I’ve seen.
I watched the Honaker and Wise games on nfhs. Ridgeview is playing really well. Wise appeared to be a little weak after the main three (Mccamis, Jordan, Looney). Ridgeview is deeper at guard position and Hill played well. I am no Wise fan by any means and am glad to see Ridgeview beat them but the intentional foul at the end was a joke call by Conley I think. Approx. 20 seconds left, Ridgeview up either 1-2 pts, and they are trying to foul to stop clock. It was a very simple, easy foul. Nothing overly physical, no shove, just hands on the girl. That was the wrong call for that situation.
She pulled her down by her pony tail. It was the right call
I agree with this. One coach achieved what he should have or even slightly less than expected and one achieved significantly more. Which coaching performance had the most impact on his team’s performance? We over value the wins too often. Tough call on this one.
I think we could have won the district without a coach based on the talent we had. I also thought Houseright should have gotten it

If I’m Graham I ride that wildcat look the rest of the way. They get cute and try to throw it and they will be done in a hurry. I have a hard time seeing anyone doing anything with them up front.
I will say RV had some chances in the game. Getting it back to 21 all had me thinking this might be the day. Especially after the disaster that was the 1st qtr. After driving back, I’ve realized that the offense really did enough to win. Yeah they didn’t make adjustments. But they scored 27 points (last 8 being after game was no longer in doubt). Graham just had the answers up front. O’Quinn had no real chances to throw. When he did, they were getting huge chunks.
I’m not sure what all is coming up for next year, but didn’t the JV team go undefeated. Someone correct me if I’m wrong on that please.
Good luck to the G-Men on getting the big one. You should be the favorites the rest of the year and overwhelming favorites next year.
Game went from being 21-21 with 5 minutes to go in the half to Graham being up by 2 scores before half and getting the ball to start the 3rd. Not sure how we let that happen but for us to still only be down by 1 score at the start of the 4th, this game was much closer than the score showed at the end
Graham won this on the line both offensive and defensive and of course #5 helped a tad. Ha. We couldn’t protect our qb and once they bounced outside, their speed was just too much for us. Hats off to the G-men and good luck
Anyone know why the Mountain 7 is playing league games before the new year? Who in their right mind would think that’s a good idea with how deep some teams go on football and volleyball?
I thought that was crazy also. It’s usually after Christmas when conference play starts.
If you read the thread before posting these guys have been talking about looney transferring for quite a few posts. And to correct your statement, "it's their state championship to make roster adjustments so they don't lose".
I’d hate to see my kid be the 6th or 7th man and have worked hard to earn playing time only to be bumped down by a recruit.
Graham by Fiddy!! Graham is to physical and all around more athletic than Ridgeview! Ridgeview has trouble running the ball. Snake palmer will have the defense dialed in.
If it wasn’t for Ridgeview self imploding they would have beat Graham last year. I say this year RV takes it. They’re playing with a chip on their shoulders right now.
Ridgeview is peaking at the right time. I have to say after all the fussing I’ve done all season over the play calling these last few games have made up for it. I’ve been impressed with the offense and the defense is playing even better than they have all year. Let’s keep it rolling
Holding back is personal choice. The recruiting business is another story, but I guess if you coincidentally work in real estate you can always find homes for whoever you want.
