At the Graham vs. CC game this year, looked to me like CC had just as many people at the game as Graham did?

I thought Gretna had home field advantage in the playoffs? how's that work? I figured the Graham - Grundy winner would have to go on the road because they were perfect on the season?

Would also like to point out that this is probably Bradshaw's last game at Mitchell Stadium. Perhaps his last HS game? That's worth the trip out to see, the kid is amazing.

They should use SWD ref's then like everyone else, I hate to get involved in that sort of talk, but 88wave and some of the others had a point about that on the old board, although it was driven into the ground. If they are in, they should go by the same rules as everyone else, if they are going to use Piedmont refs for the games, they should go be in the Piedmont district. I'm sure you can go to a lot of other schools in the same time period it would take them to travel to Grundy or Richlands. If you combine the Highlands and SWD, CC is not needed and should not be included, and I don't think that the basis for what the other schools want to do should give much weight to what CC thinks. If all the other schools agree, then it should be done regardless of if CC likes it or not.

I'm pretty sure most people from Grundy would rather play at Mitchell Stadium if the game is not at Grundy. Grundy had to go to Tazewell a few years back and play a "home" playoff game and it was horrible. I myself, like Mitchell Stadium better than any of the other places in the area, Virginia High has a very nice place to play as well...My choices in order would be Grundy, VA High, Graham, Tazewell, Richlands.

both are closer than going to Grundy or Richlands...or about the same distance.

Unless GC moves up to AA, Graham will never play them in anything but a scrimage...would be nice to see though.

I'd like to see it go back to the way it was back in the 80's...the old SWD. I think it would be good to combine the highlands with swd and send CC packing.

Grundy does not have many more students than graham does...yet both schools choose to remain in AA and play up...I think that says a lot about both programs and you never hear anyone from either school bitch about it. I would not want grundy to go to group A.

Thanks guys...I have sat on Grahams side once or twice until about half time...I just don't feel right sitting over there being a Grundy fan...lol. I figured they might want to play Friday since the field will be pretty bad Sat for whoever ends up with it. Weather calling for rain and snow all next week last time I checked. Probably won't be overly bad for Friday game, but Sat. might be nasty.

Hey guys... I went to the Graham game today and shot some video...thought you might like to see AB's frist two scores. These are in standard mpeg format, so windows media player or just about anything should play them. I did do a quick & dirty rip with low quality so people on dial up could still get them. The first one is about 1.9 Meg The second is about 3.5 Meg While both of these are awesome runs, the second one is the run down the Graham sideline where he just ran over 2 defenders on his way to the endzone...great run! I think Grundy had 7 in one game last year against someone. Sure miss the kicking game this year

I pull for Grundy myself, but I hate to say that the forcast on weather.com says that it's supposed to be clear next week and about 60 degrees in case Graham and Grundy do hook up in a rematch.

Gurndy has been giving up a ton of yards right up the middle between the tackles this year, I hope the defense can contain Collinsville.

in the same respect, if you win your district, that has to count for something. There are only so many spots, so...unless you want to add more spots, it's going to be the same situation no matter what you do. Rye Cove earned their spot. I would have liked to have seen Honaker and Clintwood both get in, but GC, PV, Haysi, and yes even Rye Cove all have earned the spots they have...so...just not enough room for everyone. Honaker and Clintwood both had good enough teams to play up this year, which would have helped them out in the long run...I'd look to that next year and try to expand the schedule a little more if possible, I know it's not easy...but with the current system, that's what they will have to do to make the playoffs. 9-1 is not a sure thing anymore.
