WoW! thats a shock. Could it be when Blfd was beaten, JM thought they had an easy road to Wheeling? Anxious to hear what the JM faithful, that was at the game, has to say later...
-
Tolsia with the ball and lead. 4 minutes to go...
-
-
Is there somewhere on the internet that has the game??
-
Tom, they didn't play the Michigan team. They played the Gladiators out of Morgantown(I believe)as a last minute replacemnt. They still played in Parkersburg though. The Barons beat them 61-6.

I also agree with putting Powell at QB. I do think, however, that Patterson should have gotten more carries out of the backfield though, throughout the season. It's simple, Blfd lost that game last night, in the rgular season, when they wasn't able to win the tight game(s) and secure homefield advantage.

Easy on Pikeville. Those boys came to Bluefield when Isabelle was a senior and gave the young lads a beating not seen by many Beaver fans. 50 something to very little. Same year that the young lads took the G-boys to the wood shed.

34-0 or 34-6...don't remember if Bluefield scored or not...Pikeville looked like a small college team...

One of the best, if not the best, high school teams I have ever seen play at Mitchell Stadium. Don't they recruit though?

if Govenor Manchin can force a WVU/Marshall series(which I agree with)then why can't he intervene and rotate the Super Six?

Can someone explain how this would work if WVU beats Rutgers, thus meaning a three way tie for the BE title? How would they decide who gets the BE's BCS bowl?
[/ QUOTE ]
Whoever finishes with the highest BCS ranking get the BCS bid..

BTW: Should Bluefield defeat Liberty-Harrison and move into the quarterfinal round that quarterfinal game would be Bluefield's 50th playoff game all-time. You say so what? Having played 50 playoff games would qualify Bluefield to be listed on the national record's site hosted by the gentleman from Texas. And Bluefield's playoff winning percentage would be among the top 30 in the entire country on that list, win or lose that 50th game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow that's impressive. Wonder what Parkersburg's playoff winning percentage is?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure. However, I guarantee that Ed Forshey knows and if he's lurking maybe he'll post that for us...

I'll post over on TSP and see if I can get an answer...

yeah Rules you trying to make those Weir fans come to Bluefield and go postal?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lord no.
I highlighted the Weir score, but forgot to copy it and when I pasted the Poca score from 2003 was the last thing I had copied.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe you man, but will they?
-
I can remember some good Bluefield teams in the late 70's and 80's that had only two losses. I would have loved to have seen what they would have done in the playoffs.
-

nevermind, You just answered my question with that second post. I guess the teams listed with just the records and no score were just considered or it is a ranking order.
-
thats a great site. One question though, The teams listed below the title particapants in the 60's and 70's, are they the playoff teams?
-
Some of you old timers correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Bluefield had only lost one playoff game prior to the early 1990's. Of course that was before the top 16 were taken. At one point only the top eight were taken and I'm pretty sure in the 50's, 60's and 70's only the top 2 were taken. Alot of undefeated and one loss teams left out. In fact Bluefield had two undefeated teams that wasn't one of the top two selected to play for the title. Selections were made by the sportwriters, I do believe, and alot of Kanawaha Valley teams were chosen.

IMO Frank Beamer has made VT football, both the good and the bad....
