Maybe so, but you can only see part of the new scoreboard...unless they tore the new one down this afternoon. I took this pic around lunch time...

Thanks for the picture G-Man. As of 3:00 the old one is still up. Maybe the rain had something to do with them not taking it down today.

If you're suggesting the game was out of hand by early 3rd quarter so be it, but you're wrong to suggest that somehow affected wv's d in the 3rd and 4th quarter, wv still had their 1st team in and they were playing their best, fact is they got some things going on o and bradshaw had some good gains. Their o did better than wv fans will credit them at times, especially in the 3rd and 4th quarter, but they they often shot themselves in the foot with 1 big step backwards for every 2 forward on a lot of those.

[ QUOTE ]
If WVU wins (or loses a close one) it wouldn't be disrespectful at all. They will have earned it. If they get blown out they will become an example of why college football needs a playoff.
[/ QUOTE ]
AGREED!!

[ QUOTE ]
It will be a disrespect to college football if wv plays for a national title with their schedule, a team should have to earn it to be in that game. Going undefeated is never easy but wv fans shouldn't kid themselves into thinking that strength of schedule shouldn't matter. But that said I honestly don't think even an undefeated wv team would have a high enough rating.
[/ QUOTE ]
How would it be disrespectful if WVU would actually WIN the title game? Seems no one has considered that. But yeah I agree with you, undefeated or not, WVU will have trouble getting enough BCS points to play in the title game.
-
Their does not seem to be a dominant team(s) in AA thus far in WV, unlike years past(Wayne, Weir Bluefield). This year may be the Mavs best chance to win a championship as they appear to be very good. If Bluefield don't win it I would much rather see a southern WV bring it home.

You are correct beaverball Randy ALbert was on that team. That game and the 1997 state championship game against Grafton was the coldest games that I can remember. You do remember the 1997 game don't you?
[/ QUOTE ]
How could I forget. You kept cramping up on the way back and my dad got pnumonia. I also remember a certain Bluefield player getting thumped in the endzone by a Grafton player. I assume you recall that??lol
-
[ QUOTE ]
BuzzsawBeaver,I could be wrong but didn't Bluefield lose to Welch at Welch? I went to every home game and some away games and I do not recall that game in Bluefield. If remember correctly my brother made commits about how the playing field was wet like it had rained when it didn't rain all week. I work with a guy that was on the welch team that year, and when we talk about that game he talks as if the game was played at Welch. I will ask him next time I'am around the Ieager-Welch area where the game was played.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey rabid beaver, that 1975 championship game is the first game that I can remember going to as a kid. I remember it being extremely cold and the biggest crowd I have ever seen at Mitchell Stadium to this day. I also remember All- American running back, Robert Alexander(Alexander the Great), coming in with lots of hype and being heavily recruited throughout the country. I believe Bluefield shut him down pretty good didn't they? Wasn't current Asst. Coach Randy Albert on that team?
