  1. Your welcome, word is that Stewert is trying to get him back as OC at WVU.Some people were impressed at the offense at Tulsa this year, plus he already knows all of the players and that Pat White went to Tulsa's bowl game this past weekend to give Herb the sales pitch. Hell of a salesman to send.LOL.
  2. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Oh and Trickett did leave because he didn't get along with Rod.... [/ QUOTE ] what a blind statement... all you have is one person saying they didnt get along, and all of a sudden its gospel. Here is what we know: 1. FSU offered Trickitt for the first time: he declined. 2. FSU offered Trickitt for the second time: he declined. 3. FSU offered Trickitt the third time: he accepted. 3a. FSU aquired Jimbo Fisher, a in-state and lifelong friend of Trickett. 3b. FSU offered Trickitt a great deal of money. 4. Rich Rod openly stated that his success began with trickitt. 5. He also got him 2 pay raises. 6. We know now that Trickitt is not easy to get along with. He forced a great recruit to transfer from FSU to USF not long since being at FSU. sure, they might not have gotten along, but how many people dont get along with their boss? id say there are a few out there. Point is, if they didnt like each other, why didnt trickitt leave. If he didnt leave and decided to stay with RR the first 2 times, how is it all of a sudden RR's fault? seems to me like he left for more money and the chance to work with his friend Jimbo... if anybody knows of any other reasons and has something to back them up id be glad to hear them... [/ QUOTE ] I won't type much because apparently it didn't get read. Read my post again and see if it was just Trick or if I mentioned Tulsa. I didn't say just one person said it....it was well known that they didn't get along. Rod has a huge ego and he has to be the man. That is why he is taking his staff with him. They are a bunch of "yes" men and won't say no or disagree with him. [/ QUOTE ] obviously they got along well enough for him to stay at WVU instead of going to FSU, how man times can we over look this. Everything was the same from the 1st to 3rd offers: same school, same players (maybe better), same money, same head coach, same city. yet he takes the job the third time... but why? well only 2 things changed Jimbo and $Money$. hmm... i think its obvious. they maybe didnt get along but it must have not been that bad... what coaches went to tulsa, please gives names... [/ QUOTE ] Herb Hand went yo Tulsa as co-offense coordinator
  3. Why would RR mom call ESPN about all of the harassment that she claims that is going on but has not filed any police reports? Can anyone provide a link to any police reports filed in relation to RR mom harressement claims?
  4. [ QUOTE ] OK, someone PLEASE explain how a freshman football player at a Division I school, whose parents are dead, can possibly "SUPPORT" any children. Maybe emotionally, he can support them but how about FINANCIALLY??? As a D-1 football player there is no way to have a job, practice, go to class, and get school work completed. Unless he's receiving money from an outside source (which BTW, would be in violation of NCAA regulations), those children are getting NO FINANCIAL SUPPORT from him. Anyone??? Bueller??? Bueller??? You want to know who is likely paying for HIS children??? YOU, ME, YOUR PARENTS, YOUR FRIENDS...ANYONE WHO HAS A JOB AND PAYS TAXES...ITS CALLED WELFARE...GOVERNMENTAL ASSISTANCE!!! I for one am tired of my money paying for everybody else's MISTAKE!!! HE isn't paying ANYTHING...WE ARE!!! And its a [censored] disgrace!!! [/ QUOTE ] Maybe Deion Sanders is helping Noel Devine with diaper money.
  5. [ QUOTE ] I though Bud was a good possibility, but I'm glad it didn't happen! It's just a matter of time until he is gone from Tech and running his own team... until Beamer retires and then he will be back on the doorstep at Tech. [/ QUOTE ] I seriously think the reason why he was not considered for the job at WVU was because of the concern that he would leave if the VT job would come open.Personally I would have loved for Foster to become head coach at WVU because I think he would make a great head coach, but any school that is interested in Foster would have to take that into consideration.
  6. Valid points, but the fact remains that you VT fans think that college football would not survive without your existence when in fact VT has fared no better then WV. BCS Victories:WV 2-0 VT 0-3 I liked how you VT fans thought that Kansas was not a worthy opponent and should not have even been on the same field as you and if you don't believe me then check out the Tech boards BEFORE the Orange Bowl and even now you guys are saying that VT was still the better team. You fans need to realise that VT and WVU are still considered second tier teams to most of the major college powers.Until one of us wins a national championship we will not get the respect that we want or deserve.
  7. How many BCS games did VT play in before going to the ACC? Correct me if I am wrong but I believe it was just one(1999)? And a couple of years before departing to the ACC VT finished no better than second or third in the Big East,so don't act like VT was the backbone of the Big East.Miami yes but not VT.When VT won the ACC championship game their first year in the ACC it was said that a team that could only finish 4th in the Big East the year before can win the ACC title.
  8. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'll try to remember Stewart's naysayers when WVU is a championship contender again next year. [/ QUOTE ] So its not even national signing day yet for the 2008 season and were already saying this coach is going to have team to compete for a national title when he has never been a head coach or a coordinator for Div 1 football. But then again they will probely make a BCS game i mean its the Big East. [/ QUOTE ] How can anybody from the ACC even talk about the Big East.Like I said before: WVU alone has more BCS wins than the whole ACC combined.
  9. They would be crying if they lost their offensive coordinator;tears of joy that is.
  10. quote][ QUOTE ] ha! no come back at all hokie boy... i could care less about posting privelages, WE JUST WON THE FIESTA BOWL!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Against a team that most TV people called "flat." [/ QUOTE ] I don't think OU came out flat because of the Bosie State game last year they felt like they had something to prove but I do think that they were surprised at how fast and quick WVU was and it put them in a state of shock and nevered fully recovered. The OU quaterback was sacked only eleven times during the whole season and was sacked four times in the first half alone against WVU and with all of the obvious holding penalties against OU it was apparent that they underestimated WVU's speed. I guess that is the new excuse phrase these days when a team that you don't like wins is that the other team was "flat".I guess that was the excuse for Georgia fans two years ago and VT's excuse last night. on a side note:WVU alone has more BCS victories than the whole ACC has all together.
  11. My guess is that he got beat up a lot during his formative years in Bluefield.
  12. [ QUOTE ] That's interesting...you don't play AAA teams other than princeton for the most part. Princeton does not define season by bluefield maybe when you were AAA but now Beckley and charleston area teams are a better gauge sorry to burst your bubble. Try to get you attendance up and join the AAA ranks again and then princeton may use bluefield as a win/loss gauge. [/ QUOTE ] That is funny because I know of one former Princeton football player who told me himself that if they could beat Bluefield then there season was complete and it would't matter if they won another game all year.
  13. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I would love to see Bud Foster stick around in Blacksburg, but I can't really blame him for wanting to take the step to the next level. His dream is to be the head coach at VT and I think that the day Beamer decides to retire then Bud will be right back on the doorstep wanting and the Tech job, and rightfully so. My perfect scenario would be for Tech to do exactly what Florida State did with Bowden and Jimbo Fisher and give him a pay increase along with future promise to the HC job. I don't blame Bud for wanting to be the top dog at a program, but just not at WVU! He will have to get a little work done to his tattoo if he does though, because I don't think it would fly in Morgantown. From a Hokie, take Terry Bowden! [/ QUOTE ] Terry Bowden told ESPN radio today that it is a dream of his to head coach at WVU. hmmmmmmmmmm [/ QUOTE ] Well hopefully his alarm clock will go off and the dream will be over!
  14. Please don't think I'am some type of intelligent guy because if you ask any of my friends they will tell you different.LOL. Seriously though that is the reason I said at the end of my comment "just a thought"...could be just a coincidence. P.S. I got my information from going to Blue-Gold news.com.
  15. Just checked fligtAware.com and a flight from Blacksburg departed at 12:07pm to arrive in Morgantown at 12:53pm.Just a thought.
  16. His two sons played football with my two sons for the Ceres Minutemen,in fact it was my son who was good friends with Joe Jr. that told me about it on Monday.I talked to Joe at the Chapmanville game and he said that he was coaching at Logan. My family and I would like to send our condolences and prayers to the Street family.
  17. Congrats Richlands, bring home another state title and do something even the mighty Beavers have not done and that is win two state titles in a row!!!
  18. All during the week leading up to the game last night I thought that JM would try to pass more thinking it would catch Bluefield off guard and it worked for the first score but after that the element of surprise was gone and Bluefield was more prepared for it.
  19. What time is the game tomorrow? I would like to listen to it on the radio .
  20. Same here from a bluefield fan.Bring home a state title also!!!!!
  21. I really liked him as a coach and person. We thought he was a little psycho when it came to conditioning.I think he got great joy watching me and the others puke our guts out.LOL.
  22. What is wrong with coach Ballard? He was my Fairview JR.High football and basketball coach in Bluefield when there were two JR.High schools in Bluefield,
  23. I work with several people from Richlands and they have showed nothing but class during this season and even after the loss to Bluefield they were very classy.Richlands fans should be proud of your fanbse.
