  1. It was a Tuesday, still working the same job now as I was then.
  2. Grandfather told me once that since about 1980 he turns directly to the obituaries to see if any of friends have died, and then throws the paper straight into the trash. HAHAHAHAHA!
  3. I agree 4 "superconferences" with 16 teams based on geographic regions.
  4. The U.S. Postal service is a quasi-govermental entity. Moronic thoughts and decisions are implied.
  5. Well said 73. This is precisely the point at which the "redistribution" theories collapses on themselves. If people received money (or Grade Points) for doing nothing, why work at all. Why produce anything.
  6. I have often wondered if any international/mulitnational corporation has any allegiance to any nation state.
  7. http://bdtonline.com/local/x2134991088/Citizens-go-postal-over-closure Attended the hearing 08-30. The moderators allowed two minutes per citizen to ask questions or make comments. The two minutes were mostly filled with angry rants. I noticed that older or senior citizens made up the vast majority of the speakers/ranters. The most endearing pleas came, naturally, from postal employees. I have mixed feelings about closing the Postal D&P center in Bluefield. What say you? One more thing, Rahall is even less inspiring in person than on television.
  8. No, I would like to have Glen Carlock back, but he's unavaliable right now.
  9. Oh no, you have "predecessor syndrome" too? I guess this conversation is over since I seem to be the only one left with oxygen reaching the brain.
  10. You and GMan keep glossing over the central theme of my posts, that it's instruction or lack thereof that is worring me, not whose larger. Williams had 3+ weeks to teach tackling and blocking, and not to put too fine a point on it, Friday night those two areas looked bad.
  11. This rings so true from a man whose wife makes him attend every Bluefield game, no matter where Graham happens to be playing. And anyway Tazewell may be in even more dire straights than Graham.
  12. No, I want to B&M about the lack of coaching. On field performance is mearly a symptom of the teams real problem.
  13. I'm going to mark this post and revisit this thread when, in the middle of district play, when our "size" isn't a problem they're struggling because they still havent been taught to block or tackle.
  14. Blind faith and acceptance of current team performance is what landed Graham's football program into the situation that is now finds itself.
  15. I couldn't disagree more, good coaching would overcome the most glaring problems that Graham is afflicted with. Inability to block, inability to tackle, inability to get off a block, motivation and on field effort. Those were the most glaring defecits that I saw on Friday, not talent level or athleticism. The things Graham does most poorly, are correctible with proper instruction.
  16. As far as the win total, comparing this years win total with any other year is comparing apples to bowling balls for the simple fact that the schedule is demonstrability weaker. Any win total will mean nothing compared to the past six seasons. Graham is heading for a middle of the road finish in the "Mediocre Effort Division" if we play well. As far as turning the program around, we need much better talent, period.
  17. So you're an advocate of the "Obama Predecessor Philosophy"?
  18. ........They're slow, small and don't block or tackle well......the O-line and the backfield aren't in sinc, so we haven't praticed as a offensive unit very much........the defensive line is the weakest in my memory......and the penalties are already piling up. Quite frankly, the team is as bad or worse as the same time last year. Let's be honest, the program passed away with Glen Carlock.
  19. It dosen't matter who wins this game.
  20. Death Penalty in all but name. Lose 30 scholorships for 15 seasons, no TV of any kind, and no post season play for 15 seasons. Don't kill them, just make them impoverished for the best part of a generation.
