  1. Alright, since you asked for an opinion from someone schooled in law. ;) The phrase "church and state" does not appear in the Constitution once; the word church doesn't even appear in the Constitution once. What people commonly refer to when discussing the "separation of church and state" comes directly from the First Amendment, which states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". Undoubtedly, this phrase reaches its current meaning through innumerable court decisions, and Supreme Court decisions as well. I'm not sure exactly how far you'd like me to go. If you want me to go deeper, I'll certainly be happy to.
  2. Classic lame-duck coach scenario. But hey, UVA had trouble with the elevation when we played them in Laramie last year. Maybe Tennessee had trouble with the elevation today, being 6th in the SEC East. :(
  3. We're not 2 drives into UVA-WF and already 2 bad calls. ACC: where piss-poor officiating happens.
  4. The only thing I disagree with is that McCain "got his doors blown off". Dukakis got his doors blown off. Mondale got his doors blown off. McGovern and Goldwater got their doors blown off. McCain lost the popular vote by 5%. And I think W. had a worse effect than Palin.
  5. NAFTA is the single-worst piece of legislation since the Vietnam conflict. I'm fully convinced of this.
  6. On the homepage where it says menu (left, about half way down), click the little arrows until you come to "CFB - College Football". Scroll down, and you should find it. I'm about 75% certain that this should work.
  7. Killed a potential "put-the-game-on-ice" drive for us last week...
  8. I FOUND AN ONLINE FEED! http://www.stoogetv.com
  9. I've said this almost like a mantra over the past 3 days, but racism is a two-way street. Racism is not an issue to be taken lightly, and it's a term that I don't throw around willy-nilly. But there are obvious examples of it in this campaign, IMO. I've seen people wearing t-shirts that said: "I voted black". I've heard people say: "we finally put a n---- in the White House". I've heard people say that they're glad McCain didn't win so racism wouldn't triumph. Do any of those signify M.L. King Jr.'s dream of judging a man on the content of his character and not the color of his skin? And all these examples are from people in my own age group. You're absolutely right: young people these days shouldn't see color. But you're misguided if you think that prejudice and hate comes from solely one end. It's more than mutual...
  10. And I've heard Democrats bloviating their rear ends off over the past two days. Same crap, different pile.
  11. We get it, Obama won and McCain lost. He's our president. http://3alleypub.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/beating_a_dead_horse.jpg
  12. ACC officiating is TERRIBLE. I mean, it takes a certain level of inept behavior to incorrectly call a FG (UNC-UVA 2007). We had one bad call bite us in the rear last week when Kevin Ogletree caught a big 3rd-down pass 25 yards downfield (in Miami territory) in the 4th quarter, get 1 foot down ONE WHOLE YARD inside the sideline, and the referees called him incomplete and confirmed the replay. Even a good friend of mine, a Miami graduate, thought that call was bogus. ACC officiating is downright terrible, no two bones about it.
  13. http://www.channelsurfing.net But I wouldn't hold my breath. :(
  14. Thanks for posting this, BTail. That's what I was referring to, as well. And to the criticizers, pray tell, how is this a part of the "radical right"? Up until 1973, the proceedure was illegal in the United States. The vast majority of states recognize some sort of "right to life" of a fetus, meaning for example that one who kills a pregnant mother may be charged with double homicide. Frankly, I think it's the American legal system that has the double-standard, and this is coming from an insider, but I digress. Tell me, what part of my belief that a fetus is a genetically-distinct, living organism constitutes "radical" thought? At the worst, it's highly debatable within the medical profession.
  15. You just about made me spit out my Diet Mountain Dew!
  16. If you'd like, I'll send you a website that shows you an abortion step-by-step in gruesome, nauseating detail. Basically, he's right. He might even be understating it...
  17. Maryland had an absolutely atrocious gameplan. Friedgen: Hmmm...one gimpy QB, one QB who's out? Nah, no need to defend against the run at all. Where's my 7th cheesesteak?
  18. I do support Obama. I'm just not a big fan of his choice for Chief of Staff, is all. Just because I don't agree with his choice doesn't mean I'm not supporting him. Remind you of 5 years ago at all? Wow, how quickly we forget when the shoe's on the other foot!
  19. How corrupt are they down there in Washington County? Fulmer has the "Fulmer Cup" named after him! ;)
  20. That's true. Much better TE. Else, that's how UVA was looking at him.
  21. There is no merit in quoting any part of those two pathetic posts directly after my last one. Suffice it to say that logic isn't their strong point, whereas I've mentioned that racism is a two-way street ad nauseum. This inherently implies that people voted BOTH for AND against Obama on the basis of his race. And as far as making people think you're stupid, I really don't have to try that hard, do I? You pretty much wear it as a badge of honor... As a side note, can we ban audg_91 and BB03, please? Those vulgar, classless posts have to be against the terms and conditions of this site, right?
  22. Not awfully surprising. VT got a very good player today.
