It's going to be another tough season for us but I will say these kids play hard and are very young. A year or two and we should be very good. Alot of young talent. QB can really throw the ball and we have a decent running game. Not much speed but like I say they play hard. If we can beat summers this week we could win 5 or 6 games but you never know. Narrows was better then last year and they actually have some pretty good players but the lack of numbers catches up to them. Speaking as an outsider I think they could use some new coaches too! They seem very confused and just not together alot of times. Hey but thats just my opinion. As for us I just hope we continue to play hard and get better every week and we'll see what happens. Very good 9th and 10th grade class so the future looks a little better. Go Mavs!

I was really surprised about mt. view. Thought for sure they would be single A. Thats what everyone was saying. AA is going to be real tough now with bridgeport back. I think they said 6 AAA teams dropped to AA.

Top AAA team has 1857 students. Smallest AAA team has 782. How ridiculous is that? Very rare they will ever be able to compete against that.

You're right i've never seen a bunch of boys avoid contact as much as these do. Toughness and attitude have nothing to do with coaching. Either your a football player or not! These boys are just to soft. No fire or passion for sound football. Win or lose at least show some effort like u care. I've been a fan ever since JM started but this is really getting hard to stomach.

It probably is time for some new coaching blood at JM but I don't know who that would be!

Guys the talent just isn't there right now. I don't care who is coaching. This in my opinion is the worst team JM has ever put on the field. From what i'm hearing things could be looking up in a couple of years,lets hope so! Lets face it we have been spoiled at JM though I never thought we would ever look this bad!

Scheduling is becoming a major issue for Bluefield and James Monroe. We lose Scott for next year and the ohio team we are playing is a one year deal and from what I understand they are paying our expenses to come up there which is just crazy considering there are so many other teams we could be playing in the area!

Hasn't Bluefield won 75% of the games over the years between the two? Thats really not much of a rivalry to begin with other then the fact the schools are located so close together. I know the game is always packed with fans that don't come to another game all year. But the way Bluefield has dominated the series it really is hard to call it a great football rivalry.

How did it turn out?

I thought Pulaski couldn't scrimmage this year as part of their punishment.

I agree with you 100%. I would love to have those 3 teams added to our schedule.

Wyoming East and Mt. View have dropped us and North Cross was just a 1 year deal. It's getting ridiculous that local teams won't play each other. I understand the Mt. View reason they are suppose to be dropping to single A and they have major problems anyway. Look at Shady Springs for an example. They won't play us but they played Keyser. Makes no sense. They can't compete with them either and that is one hell of a trip. I keep hearing that we are trying to get Princeton back. I hope so .That was a great game and very good gate for both teams.

I know things are bad at Mt. view but that final score really surprised me. What do you guys think?

Pikeview is a very much improved team. (We) JM just beat them 17-6 last year and we still made it to the semifinals last year. We got a tough road ahead to get back to the playoffs so will just have to wait and see how it plays out. Pikeview only has 5 seniors so they should have some pretty good success the next couple of years!

I know bluefields comes out friday. Does anyone know when beckleys comes out? THANKS
