I agree that this years Castlewood team sounds alot like TV from last year. But it also sounds alot like Twin Springs from last year. And I don't think that there is a Twin Spring type team to play with Castlewood this year. If anyone in Region D beats them it will have to be Gate City. Twin Valley has a shot but I believe it is a very long shot. When it comes to Region C, which I really only know about the Hogo, Castlewood or anyone will have trouble keeping up with George Wythe. If you can beat there press, which no one has done yet, you could probably beat them. That being said, go Castlewood, Twin Valley, Gate City, and George Wythe. Hopefully one of them can do something.

You can mark it down and quote me "Castlewood will blow through Region D" if Twin Valley is the second best team as most people say. Baldwin is big but can't hit anything outside of 10ft, Horn is good but a little out of control sometimes. That is really all they have. I haven't seen Gate City play but I really don't think that anyone can beat C'wood. All five starters are very good. Two All State guys back from last year and the others can all score 20 on any given night. The only thing that will hurt them is that they aren't very deep. But with all 5 starters capable of scoring 20 the bence only has to play good d and that they do.

How did Patrick Patterson do in the game. Really hope he signs with UK.

I would have to say Castlewood is definately the best team around here. Don't know if they will win state but will easily win Region D. They are loaded. Have already beaten Honaker, Virginia High, Lebanon, Chilhowie, and Sullivan Central. All of the easily. They got down 13-0 in the Virginia High game but came back to win pretty easily.

What is the score now?

I think every kickoff except maybe one went in the endzone against Lebanon. Really negated Lebanon's return game.

There is no doubt i my mind Richlands could hang 60 on your defense if they wanted to.

The kickoff for this game will be FRIDAY at 1:00 or 1:30. Just wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of playing a playoff game on Fiday afternoon. Really think this will hurt attendance. I for one will be working.

Any thoughts on this game. Should be a good game early with Lebanon pullins away in the second half.

Richlands would kill J.I. Burton. Burton is on the same talent level as Tazewell and Lebanon and look what Richlands done to them. The better the team that Richlands play the better they play. They could have beaten any team they wanted (except maybe Graham) worse than they beat Lebanon and Tazewell but they came ready to play in those games and weren't as fired up against say Grundy or Abingdon. They would do to J.I. Burton what they done to Lebanon.

J.I. Burton will not win state. There is no way they or anyone else in the playoffs will beat William Campbell.

I don't think that anyone any the state can beat you, however you can beat yourselves. The penalties can come back to haunt you in a close game.

I read Va Preps but I don't post there. Most of the people who post there from Lebanon are jerks. All towns have them.

Congrats to Richlands. They had this game won before Lebanon even took the field. Lebnanon played on their heels all night. 5 fumbles 2 picks and four muffed kickoff returns showed they were scared. I thought coming into the game they had a chance to score some points. After Richlands got the onside kick Lebanon quit. Then it was on. They haven't made mistakes like that all year and it wasn't Richlands that caused them on the field, those turnovers happened before the game started. The better team definately won tonight. Good Luck in the Playoffs. Hopefully SWVA can have 3 titles this year. Richlands, J.I. Burton and hopefully Lebanon. At least Giles shouldn't intimidate them after Richlands.

I think that in Grundy's case and in most cases where a school is playing above its class, moving down would kindof admit you can't play with the big dogs anymore. Going from the SWD to the Black Diamond in there mind would be a downgrade. Plus change is bad. You have a schedule you know what it is going to be and you are afraid of change.

I thought this thread was about Honaker and Tazewell but I must be wrong. Just a little off the topic.

Lockridge hasn't missed a game all year so I don't see why he wouldn't play this one.

I have to agree with VHSdevil, you take away McCraken or Jennings and Richlands is just a very good team, they are no longer elite. They would still probably go 9-1,8-2 but they would be nowhere near the level they are now.

Giles is the team to watch. Beating Blacksburg and Christiansburg is no easy feat for anyone. Also they played William Campbell tough.
