Where's Mount Hope? Never heard of 'em.

There's talk of making Jodie Fuller the varsity coach next year. He took last year's jv team to, I think, 14-2. I've heard that if he coaches a lot of good talent that isn't on the team now will play. That would be a smart move.

It's probably not likely that the 8th grade will move up. It's not just the decision of the school board, there are a lot of other high-and-mighties that this has to pass through. Some nation-wide SACS thing, for example. I'm not sure what that stands for but it has to do with colleges. All high school in SACS (including all Tazewell County schools) have already defined the enrollment and grade levels in their schools, so it would be really complicated and a really big hastle to change all that crap and get it straightened out. Besides... it's retarded.

Rife is a 10th grade P.E. teacher. He doesn't do his job in the classroom, either. The only reason that he still has a job is that in the past, when his coaching schemes worked with his players, they gave him the title of athletic director. If he didn't have that under his name he would probably be dropped like a ton of bricks. And you're right he doesn't get respect in the classroom, but that's not because of the way the community talks about him, it's because he's Coach Rife.

This game was probably the best I've seen UT play all year. They romped the Aggies 38-7. The Vols were even the underdog in this one.

Since there's no soccer message board i'll just post here. I'd like to know if Grundy is ever planning on organizing a soccer team; or any school for that matter; Grundy in particular because they're in the SWD. The local schools really do need some good competition. Not too many schools have soccer teams, but there is plenty of potential to have good school soccer programs in the area. So if there are some people out there who don't play baseball in the spring, get some friends together and see if you can get a team organized for your school. I know that's how us folks over here in Richlands got our's started. So if this spikes anyone's interest, give it a go, kick somebody.

My brother is in the 276th, also. Luckily, he's on leave for two weeks. If he weren't he would have been in that mess hall.

Sounds like Richlands must have fixed some problems with their offense. Maybe we can fix a couple more next time and come away with a win.

Richlands won there first against Hurley, but since then they've lost four straight, three of which were in the Va. High tourney. The last loss today was to Marion, not sure of a score, though.

The score was 48-30

The band practice filed beside RES would work. It's a full size field. There might be some lines left on there, too. Noone will be using it now that football season is over.
