  1. Truly a special core of young men we have here with this squad. I couldn't be more proud.
  2. Oh no! I'm really in for it now!! 🤣 I didn't think I would have to explain this, but the context of my response had nothing to do with the kid's injury and everything to do with you acting like a complete clown. I would have thought that the embarrassment a grown ass man would get from being called into his kids' principal's office over his own internet behavior last year would be enough, but nope....look at you go, BJ!
  3. The better team won, man....Let it go. And if you would, please relay that message to the other accounts you post under here. Thanks in advance.
  4. Congrats Riverheads! Truly an honor. The bar has once again been raised for Virginia 1A football. I have nothing but full respect and admiration for the program you guys have built. I will be cheering you guys on from afar (unless, of course, we happen to meet again lol) A huge thank you to the George Wythe football team, coaching staff, and administration....What a memorable year! You gave your all for your brothers on the field and the community behind you. I could not be any more proud of you all and to be a Maroon. Is it August yet?
  5. Here, here! 🍻 Let's do the dang thing! Without a doubt pulling for you guys tomorrow. GO G-MEN! Let's bring em home!
  6. His comment was toward the Essex coaching staff, not Grundy's. For what it's worth, I can't speak for an entire town, but pretty much everyone I know has had nothing but glowing things to say about the Grundy team, staff, and even more so, it's fan base. Feel how you want about us or anyone along the SWVA I-81 corridor....I'm not here to try and change your mind. However, I'll root for Grundy in any sport as long as they aren't playing GW.
  7. Thanks man....I distinctly remember following your updates that night, hence the tag. You were my eyes that night for that one lol
  8. If memory serves, GW had a slim lead (like 1 point) at the half or after the first drive of the 2nd half before both teams started going with their 2nd units. I could be wrong, however....I missed the benefit game. @Union_Fan may be able to tell you more about that, but I don't think we got demolished in any way, shape, or form. Either way, I can't put a lot of stock into a benefit game 3 and a half months ago lol
  9. I know everyone and their mamma will be taking Riverheads, and most will take Riverheads big.....I can't fault a soul for that. But MAN....What a legendary opportunity we have! Nothing left to do but show up, play hard, play confident, and see if we can't play our way into a chance at stealing the show. Likely? No....Impossible? Also no.
  10. Luke has been huge defensively in the first half. A couple of times Scammell had an opportunity for a big run and Jollay has sniffed it out. Something we missed in a monster way in our first meeting
  11. It is! But after 3:30, Main St will not be available for parking from the 1st St intersection to the 6th due to the Christmas Parade. Skeeters sits just inside that area near 1st and Main, so parking may still be nearby. @Gridiron60 is also correct....The Grind and Moondog Pizza are very good. These blocks in this town aren't very big, anyway lol Edited to add that their hours are 11-5:30 today
  12. Good luck and safe travels! Should be a great game! Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions about getting around Wytheville. Heads up, our Main St will be closed for a spell for our annual Christmas parade tomorrow.
  13. For what it’s worth, if he’s legit offering Essex +35, I want some of that action too. I’ll even give him the hook and take Essex +34.5 😂
  14. This isn't a wrong statement. And you see it just as much or more in their youth athletic programs hosted by their feeder schools. Very centric and yes, clanish. In some ways, it's awesome. Others, not so much. Spider is an alumni tho....He's not an outsider. I'm struggling to remember if he was fired during his first stint at The Fort or if he stepped down. Not often you see a coach get fired twice by the same school.
  15. We can compare athlete to athlete all we want, but Grayson has speed on the perimeter with good hands, a QB that can get the ball out accurately with time, a balanced offense, and a defense that can give themselves enough stops to give themselves a shot. Add to that GW's tendency to give up big plays, and I'm very concerned about this game. Regardless of who has better athletes, Grayson has more than enough to take advantage of big plays if we let our guard down or miss an assignment. Some of y'all are selling Grayson mighty short in that department. It's going to be a close game.
  16. He made some defensive adjustments against us that limited us to 7 in the 2nd half, and that came off a Grayson fumble to set us up goal to go. Granted, he benefited from some mishaps from us, but the bottom line is they gave themselves a chance because they did what they needed to do to stop us first. That will carry over.
  17. I felt like we were the better team after our matchup in week 10, but I'll say this.... Having to play Stephen a 2nd time in a season makes me very, very nervous. He'll be ready, and he'll have those kids more than ready.
  18. Have I ever mentioned how much of a Giles football fan I was? 🤣
  19. I've never been to Gretna, but I was on their side for a playoff game on the road against Christiansburg during the Vic Hall days. I 100% believe every word you said lol Side note: that game is easily in my top 3 best high school games I've ever attended.
  20. 100% in regards to our DLine. They've been great so far this year collectively, and individually, Green has been off to a monster start.
  21. Meh....We put together a couple of quick scores to start the 2nd half and Fort pretty much quit at that point. We played a cleaner, much more sound game in week 1 in the loss to Radford than we did Friday in the win against Fort. 12 penalties, put the ball on the ground 3 times, threw an INT in the end zone, and had (at least) 2 TD's called back for penalties. We'll have to dial in and clean it up against a good Giles team that won't give us the luxury of playing like that 2 weeks in a row and get a W, and Giles certainly won't quit like Fort did.
