I'm not sure exactly when I went from drunk party boy at Myrtle Beach every year for Sr. week... to old fart wanting peace and quiet with my family (away from all those dumb drunk party boys - haha) but for the last couple years, me and my wife and daughter (6 yo) have went to Wrightsville Beach (Wilmington, NC). if you want peace and quiet, then that is the place. it's like a secluded little island, and you can relax on the beach and let your kid run and play and dig. it has a cove that fills up with the tide. you can get the coolest and biggest shells you've ever seen. plus, when the tide is in, you can walk out it in it and see crabs, starfish, and sting rays, and I've even seen a blow fish before. every year, we are amazed at how cool the place is. plus, UNC Wilmington is right there, so there is plenty to do in the evenings... and lots of good restaurants.

we have 8 now... we could go with that, but I'd like to have 10... need 2 more.

I drive daily from Princeton to Blacksburg... I usually listen to K92. and ONLY on my way home in the evenings, when I'm going through the Glen Lynn area right there at AEP and starting up the hill does it fuzz out and some some other station come in. it only lasts for a little bit, but I'm always wondering where in the world did that signal come from... who is interfering with my Lady GaGa (because that's all K92 seems to play). I'm sure this is a different station, but this happens right around Starbucks too... anywayz - my 2 cents

Lance -- that 1st link works every time I click it... does it for others? and what was I thinking putting a link to a story with all those words. you need pictures -- hahaha Observer -- sure you did ;) if you was livin in Virginia... or had been listening to K92 out of Roanoke, then you've heard the commercials. I drive an hour every morning/evening from Princeton to Blacksburg and listen to K92. the commercials are funny and get your attention, but there was an odd one yesterday that made me start to actually investigate. pretty much, the plan was to market an awesome energy drink... but then come to find out it has the same ingredients as cigarettes... when society finds that out, they lose their mind. and I was actually wondering, "how can they put nicotine in an energy drink??? isn't that illegal???" but I was thinking it was a way to get people to stop smoking. come to find out - they are just proving a point... that there is a double standard. that it's OK for cigarette companies to put these poisons and addictive ingredients in cigarettes, but if someone else did it -- then there will be HELL TO PAY!!! I think it's funny... but it worked. it should make you think

In regards to Hacker, and hokie07. Yes Hacker - kids to get into gangs because of the things you listed... and yes hokie07 - Mercer Co (not just Bluefield/Princeton) does have a drug and gang problem. (NOTE: a gang is any group of people that portray a certain set of actions or behaviors... it's not just bloods and crips) I posted a message several months ago about a 4 week informational session that was going to be at the Princeton teen center (Planet Xtreme). The purpose of these sessions was to get educated about the youth in Mercer Co in regards to alcohol, drugs, premarital sex, teen pregnancy, and gangs. Then, come up with programs and activities that would give alternative options. The statistics were staggering for Mercer Co (per capita). What was just as bothersome was the number of people that showed up.... errrrr -- maybe I should say didn't show up. There was a total of about 9 different people that showed up over the 4 week span... but there was usually 5 at each meeting. I think me and one other from my church was the only ones that were there every time. What's worse...... the kids going around selling drugs, getting pregnant, and acting like gang thugs, or the community that just sits around on their thumbs... looking to the sky and saying "Lord, I wish YOU would do something about these issues".... when the truth is - he has empowering you all along to do it.

well, I guess he would care about a majority in the House and/or Senate... I was just saying that he's not the senator any more and won't be part of that election. I wasn't reading between the lines... and I'm not very good at guessing games either - just ask my wife

last I saw - that big heap of metal something is still in the front of the car lot (across from McDonalds). it looks like metal roofing from something / somewhere??? and as for the motel 8 and omelet shop - WOWSA!!! I couldn't really see it last night, but I saw it good today. it didn't just blow off a piece of the roof, it blew off the entire roof!!! and all in one giant piece. it covers the omelet spot, the parking lot, a bunch of cars/trucks, and goes all the way to the back of the lot. it was KrAzY. and trees are just broke off all over the place. there is one biggun that got uprooted and is laying on the house (on old oakvale rd). and fieldgeneral, if you live so close to BP to where you went there for ice... then we must be close. I live behind Lowes.... but we never lost power.
