  1. YEA I DONT THINK THERE IS A SINGLE PLAYER ON HERE FROM RICHLANDS THAT POSTS. ALL THE RHS POSTERS ARE FANS THAT ARE SUPPORTING THEIR TEAMS. RICHLANDS IS GOOD SO I GUESS WE CANT POST UNLESS WE ARE MEDIOCRE. ALSO AS FOR ME AND I COULD PROBABLY SPEAK FOR THE REST OF THE POSTERS FROM RICHLANDS ON HERE THAT A LOSS WOULD BE OK AS LONG AS IT IS NOT IN THE PLAYOFFS. STATE IS ALL IM CONCERNED WITH.

I tell you what this is starting to get old. I have heard this same arguement for the last three years from other teams. Richlands plays who they play, Graham plays who they play, tazwell plays who they play and so on. The good thing about Richlands is that they win theirs and everyone else does not. I agree Richlands has not played any good competition. But think about it. Is it because these teams are not anygood or is Richlands that much better than them. You can not answer that question with a factual statement just an opinion. I cant either. But why does most people from other schools always, at least for the past three years always go back and say Richlands will not beat someone out east because they play nobody out here. I guess we will have to start playing salem in the regular season before this hogwash will stop. Another thing that will make it stop is to win state. So lets go out and do it guys.

i agree richlands has not been tested. They blown out everyone they have played (grahm game close in first half). I guess you all think that because richlands kills everyone that everyone else is having a down year. You don't worry rhs players and coaches are not worried about salem (not even thinking about them) because they do not have to play them. why would you think about someone that there is no way you have to play. This topic is mostly just fans talking about how good our team is or others talking about how rhs do not play anybody and would not stand a chance agianst salem. as for me i could care less about salem. If we were D4 i would think about the situation. but not going to happen. By the way, richlands fans do not think there are unbeatable. Do we think were the best in the state? for the most part no considering that i beleive cd hylton is ranked nationally. Do we think we are the best in AA? why not think so. I do not think there is a AA school we cant beat. Do we think we are the best in division 3? YES. Can we be beat? YES. FYI we are not the only ones that think we are the best in D3. Gilliam said we are to good for anyone in the SWD and probably D3 . also rated in top 2 in every poll out there. But as i know and i know everyone on the team knows you take it one game at a time.

correct me if im wrong but has richlands and salem only played twice in the last 16 years. Richlands won one and a state championship, and salem one once with a state championship. Thats a far cry from salem beating them every year.

it would be very competetive game. rhs comes out on top. You all say that nobody can beat salem from the swd anytime you all are crazy. when richlands and salem played in the semis in 2003 there was only two plays that kept that game from being ours. an interception attempt right before the half and an onside kick that we should have had. thats it. if we would have went in at the half with the lead we win i believe. but its over now. go blue
  15. If anybody had not seen thought you might like to see. Write up on Austin Fuller in the BDT Fuller providing tall target for Blue Tornado By JED LOCKETT Bluefield Daily Telegraph RICHLANDS, Va.  Austin Fuller is like a lot of high school football players in that he hopes to play at the NCAA Division I level. Unlike a lot of those players, the Richlands junior wide receiver has taken his dream to another level. Fuller practices in a pair of white football pants emblazoned with the Virginia Tech logo. “I actually got them off Ebay,†Fuller remembered. “I was looking around there, figured I’d just get some practice pants that were comfortable and found these, go I got ‘em.†The pants are symbolic of the dream. “I hope to go to a Division I college and play football if anybody’ll look at me, but I don’t know,†Fuller admitted. “Nobody’s said anything to me yet, but hopefully. I’d like to go to Virginia Tech maybe. Anywhere at all actually.†Fuller might be looked at with Division I interest if he keeps tearing through secondaries at his current pace. “Right now, I think he’s got 18 catches for 454 yards and nine touchdowns,†noted Richlands head coach Greg Mance. “He’s done a great job exploiting those one-on-one coverages.†“He’ll work at it and he’ll get the most out of his potential,†Mance continued. “Right now he’s just having fun and he’s got a role to play just like everybody else and he’s done a great job and he’s added that third dimension for us at the wideout position... .†Fuller credits his success to his quarterback. “Justin McCracken’s been throwing the ball great, just puts it on the money every time,†Fuller noted. “I wish he would be back next year so I could stay at wideout. I wish he’d have another year. That would be fantastic.†A growth spurt last spring turned Fuller into a tall target. “I couldn’t really tell much until after it was complete,†Fuller admitted. “I guess now you can tell I guess looking at pictures from back then. By this time last year, I was about 155. Now I’m 200. It’s helped a lot.†Fuller also attributes part of his development as a wide receiver to his time on the varsity tennis team. “The reason I play tennis, it helps you with you footwork, quickness, everything like that,†Fuller explained. “And I like coach Carter, he’s the special teams coach. He’s the coach for the tennis team. We do a lot of strength training, run the bleachers and everything everyday.†Fuller has a close and unique relationship with Mance. Mance is not just Fuller’s head coach. He is Fuller’s stepfather. That relationship has its pros and cons. “It’s a little bit tougher. He’s twice as hard on me, plus I have to hear it at home as well as on the football field,†Fuller noted. “I can talk to him at home about what patterns I like to run or whatever like that ‘cause I can communicate better with him.†“As a coaching aspect and as a father, he’s been a dream,†Mance said. “He comes to practice and works hard. He works hard in the offseason. He’s a team player and it’s been a pleasure for me to coach him.†Even though Fuller’s statistics are robust, he is much more concerned about taking care of unfinished business. “I’d just like to win state,†Fuller said humbly. “Don’t want to go through that same thing we did last year. That was the worst bus trip home ever. The longest, too. It wasn’t very fun. Don’t want to go through that again.†While Fuller was being interviewed, he was glad to talk, but also anxious to get back on the practice field with his teammates. “I love playing football,†Fuller admitted. “It’s my favorite thing to do.† Contact Jed Lockett at jlockett@bdtonline.com

  17. the blues have a really good team. the reason they only talk about 2 or 3 good players is because they are at the key positions qb, rb, wr. did you think the same thing last year rebel. they basically have the same type of team they had last year just a little smaller on the line. you see were they went last year. yes they lost at state but in my opinion we were as talented a team as TA just could not figure out their scheme of offense. anything short of a state championship for these boys will not be a complete successful year for them. A good year but not a complete success. they can compete with anyone in the state in AA in my opinion as long as they stay healthy and play well and cut down on the penalties. Can they be beat, certainly without a doubt, but are they capable of winning it all certainly so. Not mad at you rebel but just wandering if you have actually seen the blues play or just hearsay is what your going on. if you have seen them play then good for you and your opinion is respected by me. I dont agree with you but i respect your opinion only if you have seen them play.
  18. i agree with beano5 on this one. im an rhs fan, and the first half worried me. the kid was eating us up in that 2nd quarter. they went for it on 4th down twice and he had not problem getting them the first down. our line was getting pushed off the line. Good adjustment stopped that in the 2nd half though. hes a tuff strong back. not saying we have any problems with the backs we have because we have one of the best back there i believe but it would be nice to have a fullback back there occasionally getting u those short gains when needed.
  19. the two pass interference calls against graham on fuller were close calls. it all is the opinion of the person watching. Im an RHS fan, in my opinion the first one did not look like pass inteference, but maybe i caught it late, the one in the end zone looked like pass interference to me, but who knows. Not very good refs on our point of view but they are on the field with the best view of what goes on. its all in the eye of the beholder. bad calls both ways. just something you have to overcome sometimes. RHS did and Graham didnt. the ways it goes sometimes. what i was most impressed with about the blues is the way they adjusted at half time on defense. wether it was the coaching or just good execution, we came out and shut graham down in the 2nd off. after the 2nd quarter and way graham was blowing us off the line and getting 5 and 6 yards a carry i thought we were going to be in trouble. but good adjustment by the blues. Great game

    Question.

thats not totally true. if you play stronger single a schools like pv you most likely are looking at least 8 wins maybe 9. you get points for each win. by playing stronger single a teams u are almost gauranteed winning points. like this year richlands will probably get more points from all the single a schools because they win than they will get from all the highland teams. in grahm case they could possibly less points from blacksburg and martinsville (depending on their win total ) than if they would beat a strong single a team that is probably going to win out. it sometimes depends on how good ur opponents schedule is
  22. because they have not played ne1 (which i do agree with) so far is that why u think the gmen will win and rhs is not as good as everyone says they are. richlands has played the teams on their schedule and killed them. they cant change their schedule before the year starts/\. u play who is in front of you. one game at a time. i remember this same discussion last year. richlands knows how to prepare for a team and friday will be no different should be a great game
  23. wgat do u mean by overrated were do u get that point of view from. caleb is a great back. d1 no, but a great highschool running back. in my opinion he is one of the toughest runners out there.
