  6. I know one of the guys injured in this unfortunate accident. According to him, there was a male, female, and two children in the cobalt. The female and one child was killed. He was driving the Jeep and was traveling towards Cumberland Road when the Cobalt lost control and hit his vehicle. He said that the vehicle was going extremely fast. He is having severe back and leg pain now and is unable to walk. He has been to the ER twice since the accident and was told that the X-rays are not showing anything and he is having to see a specialist next week. Please keep those involved and their families in prayer.

  21. http://www.bdtonline.com/local/local_story_021201115.html GHS halls, classrooms abuzz with support for former gridiron standout By CHARLES OWENS and TOM BONE Bluefield Daily Telegraph BLUEFIELD, Va. — Ahmad Bradshaw has made his way to the pinnacle of football. Bradshaw, from Bluefield, Va., is going to Super Bowl XLII as a rookie running back with the New York Giants. Bradshaw’s upcoming trip was the talk of students and staff at Graham High School Monday, according to principal John O’Neal. “There is excitement here in the building — especially with the teachers,†O’Neal said. “All of them had Ahmad in the classroom. That was the buzz in the classroom. We are just excited for him. We are happy for him.†Graham football coach Doug Marrs said the school was enjoying “a unique kind of atmosphere.†“It’s awesome,†Graham alumnus Chase Elswick said Monday afternoon. “It’s unspeakable. You can’t speak enough about how happy we are.†O’Neal said he and several members of the coaching staff at Graham High School have spoken with Bradshaw twice within the last week. O’Neal said he tried to call Bradshaw after Sunday’s upset victory by the New York Giants over the Green Bay Packers, but Bradshaw’s voice mail was full. The Giants won in overtime, 23-30, braving sub-zero weather and wind chill in Green Bay. Bradshaw ran for 63 yards and the Giants’ only touchdown of the second half. Marrs said Bradshaw’s entrance into the backfield “kind of sparked ’em.†Jared Smith, running backs coach at Marshall University, said Bradshaw is among “the best of the best†going to the Super Bowl. Smith said, “He has explosiveness, elusiveness, great vision, and power.†He said he wasn’t surprised that Bradshaw, as a first-year player, carried the ball 16 times in a big playoff game. “Not at all,†Smith said. “While he was here, he shouldered and requested most of the load.†He ran for 2,982 yards in three seasons at Marshall — after running for 5,265 yards and 92 touchdowns for Graham. O’Neal said, “Personally it is exciting, and it is nice to see someone from a small town such as Bluefield, Va., make it this far, and have a chance to play on one of the biggest stages in the world. “But I guess as far as the people who have coached Ahmad, and seen him running up and down the halls, he’s still just Ahmad to us.†Marrs referred to numerous doctors, lawyers and other professionals who are Graham alumni. “He’s just one of a long line of successful Graham grads,†Marrs said, adding that “none have received the notoriety he received (Sunday) night. ... Right now, he’s the ‘top G-Man.’ †Elswick, who played football at Graham with Bradshaw, said, “Before every game, he text-messages 20 or more of us. He never forgot where he came from.†Elswick called him “a good kid, a great guy.†Rex Bradshaw, a senior at Graham when Ahmad Bradshaw was a sophomore, said that playing pro football “was one of his dreams, and he’s living it right now.†He said his G-Men teammates knew “he was something special.†The town of Bluefield, Va., is preparing a resolution in honor of Ahmad Bradshaw, Mayor Jimmy Jones said. “We are extremely proud of him,†Jones said. “To think it has only been three or four years since he was playing at Graham High School, and now he’s playing at the Super Bowl. He’s just one of the most exciting players I’ve ever watched.†Jones said the resolution will be finalized and presented to Bradshaw soon in honor of his Super Bowl accomplishments. Marrs said, “I don’t really think (the Super Bowl) was a part of his plan. It was to do what he loved, and that was to play football.†Elswick said, “It’s human nature. Anything you really want in life, you’ve got to be ready to work hard for it, and he sure has.†Tazewell County is proud to call Bradshaw a former student, School Superintendent Dr. Brenda Lawson said. “It certainly pleases you when you see a student excel, and Ahmad was a great athlete at Graham High School, and the Graham High School team was very successful during his time as a student,†Lawson said. “Hopefully he will continue to do well. I’m sure I can speak for a lot of folks in wishing him and the New York Giants well in the coming weeks. It gives everyone a sense of pride, and certainly we are all going to enjoy celebrating his success whether they (the Giants) prevail or not.†The Giants will try to deny the 18-0 New England Patriots an undefeated season in the Super Bowl on Feb. 3 in Glendale, Arizona. — Contact Charles Owens
  22. http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,22953744-5005368,00.html?from=mostpop Spears' lover faces rape charges The boyfriend of 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears could face statutory rape charges carrying a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail. If 19-year-old Casey Aldridge really is the father and the baby was conceived in Spears' home state of Louisiana, the act could technically be considered "felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile" - defined as "sexual intercourse with consent between someone age 19 or older and someone between age 12 and 17". Fox News reports that in Louisiana a person can only legally consent to sex at age 17. If aged 15 or 16, the other person involved must be no more than two years older for the act to be considered legal. Yet Aldridge wouldn’t fare much better if the act happened in California, where Spears lives while on the set of her TV show Zoey 101. "It states clearly in the Californian Penal Code that any person who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor (under 18) who is not more than three years older or three years younger than the perpetrator, is guilty of a misdemeanour and faces up to one year in a county jail," criminal defence attorney Jim Hammer said. “But if Aldridge is actually more than three years older he could be up for a felony, which carries a maximum three years in prison.†But lawyer Christopher Darden says charges are unlikely. “The father of the child may have committed a criminal offence or misdemeanour by having unlawful sex with a minor,†he said. “But unless the complaint is filed from the minor’s parent, it is unlikely that this will be taken further.â€
