I heard the numbers are down and some players are electing not to go out!! Wow... I hope this isn't true. Who knows about kids today!! Would anyone thats in the know have anything to say about this?? The SWD just expanded and should be more fun for those that choose to be a part of the program...

Condolences and prayers to Coach Sutherlands family and friends. The Haysi community and schools will definately miss him. He was always a class act and his life was about the kids and the sport he loved... Thanks coach for all you gave.

it musta been real exciting.. there was more advertising about it than anyone commenting on the game itself!! Hopefully something good came out of it for some of the players.

Excellent opportunitie for SWVA high school seniors to show case their game a final time!! Hopefully some of our local college coach will have enough energy to come and look at what our high schools have to offer!! What area/districts will this cover?? In other words how far east will it cover? By the way whose idea was this??

couldnt have been a better game than the 3 over time game last year with GC and TS over at clinchco!! That was wild... but i love them close anytime.. and the big crowds and pressure make it great!.. ok.. i called these games above.. Now.. GC has to bring a better than A game to beat Altavista... I think GC girls will win against Clarke... but the end comes against Floyd County for the lady devils!! lol... Good luck to GC, boys and girls and Va high girls.. Looks like Brooke made a really good decision moving back to Bristol!! Congrads to all!! and best of luck..

absolutely without a doubt!! Such a tragedy. Something like this puts everything into perspective!!

dang good picks man... you still left you the one from bristol.. hes horrible.. if you was at the region d.. he had the shineyest head there.. even shineyer than kuzko's.. lol... if thats possible!! lol but i dont think frankies all that bad.. hes better than any of the scott co. boys!!

Again.. in the Region D finals... I think Campbell from Bristol.. gave GC's best foul shooter 2 shots with 3 ticks left! He nailed both giving GC a 4 point lead (i think). Castlewood had no time outs!! GAME!! Really the call from where i was.. shoulda been a jump ball on a rebounded miss by Anderson. Possession Arrow was to CW. I guess what i'm saying.. He had a definate bearing on the outcome of the game!!

I've been to, i think all the Region D games... Altizer, Phillips and Hurst are the best of the best! Those guys from Scott Co., and Wise County are horrible.. They control the game. Its like "They have to say something every few ticks of the clock". Why not let the kids decide who wins.. Protect the shooter, keep the defensive guards from saddling up and riding the ball handlers. In the post try to keep the pushing and shoving to a minimum. Example, Castlewood post player used his butt to shove Burtons post players out of bounds. Landing himself on the floor several times.. being whistled only once during the game for that offense. Andersons BIG jump stop to me is very questionable. To me its when both hands touch the ball. Is he in flight or starting his bounce!! Whats the call or to close to call?? lol but anyway.. those bald guys are horrible.. They're mechanics are very good but its their attitude of what seems to be favoritism at critical times that bothers me. All this being said, does anyone else got any comments?? I'd like to extend this... Excellent Job.. Phillips, Altizer and Hurst theres more good ones out there but you guys are big game officials. The state tourney needs you guys.. not the skin heads!!

It was fun watching you guys play... All will be back minus the big guy Matt. Matt its been fun watching you. YOu stayed in foul trouble a bit much.. but lots of good players do that!! Hopefully we'll see you at the next level! The young guys, I hope after last year and last night you can move forward and begin making your future presence known!! Thanks for the fun this year!

good attitude about winning and confidence in yourselves.. yes yourselves.. lol.. i believe your a jv player. Maybe a reserve! Your bench will have to produce to move IMO... They did ok. the other night. In big games ppl have to step up. You can do it GC is very beatable! Get Baldwin the ball more, he is capable of carrying you!!

Tazewell...i think you have a really good coach that has shown you the direction you need to go. Keep the right attitude. good things will happen... Grundy 4 in a row?? maybe.. but you'll miss Ashby more than you might think..

ya and a good move for kent he gotta play in a dist., region d championship team not to mention barely missed out on a state championship.. good move in his case!! lol but again some cases are thata way... i dont see it happening though!! really.. to many ?????????????'s.. lol

Both teams were fun to watch and kept getting better as the season went along!! I wished you guys coulda drawn out of the Highlands.. if so.. i think you would still be playing!! hell ya man... lol... from here on out it'll be 250 against 700... but radfords gone now.. thats a good thing!! I still think Region D is strongest again this year.. Focus for TV is a key.. hope for officials that will call a foul fri.(GC fouls alot) and it will be ok... leave it all on the floor!! As far as the statement in the paper.. thats motivational material for TV. They played their best game of the year and TV played not so good... but was still close enough to strike had all they starters not fouled out... IMO.. Honaker has a problem finishing!! but thats me.. lol.. good practices this week guys and heads up.. not alot of teams even get to go where your going friday.. win that one and get 2 more!! wow... Yes GC must win against RC.. that should be a good one.. maybe.. RC and GC are in the same county.. that could be a county rivalry thing.. so who knows.. i'm pulling for RC.

Well, i'd figure richlands coaches would be preparing for the trip out to martinsville... plus if the coach is and x-coach i dont think it would matter.. plus theres vhsl rules about changing schools.. like physically moving!! to become eligible to play!! then again the grass isn't always greener on the other side either!! lol i'd dismiss this as rumor!! TV has a great future. all those guys are young and are expected to be very good in the future.

opps i just returned home from the game... i'll have to reply to myself.. as i stated above. Honaker was and did pull it off!! Home court advantage and some atrousious officiating set the stage... I cant believe theyd let those 3 jokers on the floor at one time.. but i guess they did.. TV finished the game with 4 players due to everyone fouling out! Not all blame goes on the refs as honaker played a much improved game. Reality check for the panthers you have 3 days to get it all together.. You can get it done.. focus and put this one behind you!! Good luck...
