Roy Christian for 3 years has had one job and thats to clog the holes and let Brett Clayborne, Shane Wicks and Derek Jackson chase the ball down and make the tackles considering the fact that in the last three years those have been the best 3 linebackers in the district I would say that Roy does his job extremely well. Glad to see the big guy get his credit where it is due.

They vote more on how a team did? How do you figure Richlands was the best team in the district but they have the 3rd most people on the first team. I guess Marion had all the players that were "that good" would figure a team with all the good players would have made it to the play offs

I know it is a little confusing a 4-6 team having more than the district champions but I believe if you look back at the past few years Graham always ends up with more than Richlands on the first team I think everyone is used to it. I do agree that being first team is a little like a participation certificate when they give so many in one position, every teams linebacker made it except Grundy

You know I think the coaches should be required to make this thing look more like a true first team, 6 linebackers thats nearly every team in the districts linebackers making the team, they do it every year one year it was at running back I remember there were like 5 running backs on first team that makes it not enough of an honor. About the coaching like I said about 5 pages ago I am pretty sure the district champions coaches get Coach of the year every year I am not ever sure if they vote on it

I think Muncy is a good football player and really showed up to play this last game against Richlands but Elswick did everything Muncy did plus won both head to head matchups, by my math the very most Touchdowns Richlands could have scored this year was 47 based on how many points they have scored, there were some field goals and two point conversions so probably more like 43 or 44, Elswick either ran or threw for 34 that means he accounted for most or over 3/4 of the scoring for the districts best team. Gotta mean something in voting

And how could Elswick not get QB over Lockhart its not even close Elswick was easily the most dangerous offensive weapon on the district and regional champs, there should be no question he should be QB and POY

Yeah thats the thing Richlands first baseman was the second leading hitter on the team (.457), had very few errors at first base and was either 6-0 or 7-0 on the mound he should have been on there for sure either as a utility player or at first base no question about it.

No I dont think it should be all Richlands but I dont see how a team goes undefeated and gets half as many first teamers as the second place team and yes it is a team sport and they were clearly the dominant team while the voting was going on so that should speak for something.

That first team is the biggest joke I have looked at in a long time there is no way that a team that swept their district games should only have half as many players on the first team as another team, Richlands went undefeated they should have the most people on the first team this voting was done long before the regionals so that could not have came into play. This is not only a joke it should be close to an outrage no possible way Abingdon deserved to double Richlands on the first team.

Have they done any recent updates to the changing rooms at Mitchell, I know that there seating is great and that concession stand on the end opposite the scoreboard is fairly new but last time I was in the actual locker rooms they were pretty outdated, just wondering if they had done anything or not its been a while since I have made it up there

Mayo was not the best athlete on the field that day, the two best athletes on the field that day were Austin Fuller and the Wide receiver from Rockbridge County. Obviously Fuller did something right shortly after that game the Division I offers came in.

Oh yeah they were bad going both way all night long but it was both ways, on one horrible bluefield punt I remember someone on Richlands sideline caught it and they said it went out of bounds past where he caught it at.

They didnt come close to getting back at Bluefield, if anything that game tonight the officials gave Bluefield more calls, Bluefield only had one penalty until 2 mins to go and that was for kicking the ball out of bounds. They lined up in the neutral zone the whole first half. Anyway I think Bluefield is a better team but it drives me nuts you all coming on here saying the officiating was bad and cheapening what those two teams did out there tonight. Kicker from Bluefield has nerves of steel great kick, #31 Bluefield and Matt Davis from Richlands both made nonfactors out of the two big play receivers just a great game all around. Some people decided before they left home that they were going to complain about the officials I think.

The guy pictured earlier with the guns was not the killer, he just so happens to be an Asian who goes to Tech that also happens to be a active gun collector, Geraldo and some other last night showed that photo and reported him as the killer but it was a false report

The same reason all the WVU fans brought Tech into the Mike Vick at the airport story, Pac man is the biggest thug to come out of either of the two schools

I think that the SWD will be a factor in football, baseball and softball at least, in football Richlands will hold their own no doubt, Tazewell has been down for a couple of years but both them and Richlands have have some good baseball teams either one of them could make a run with the right pitching matchups along the way, and softball both Tazewell and Richlands are down this year losing alot of seniors last year but their JV teams were loaded they could either one make a run.

Coach Mance, had Vaught my sophmore year and he didnt motivate us the way Mance did. Palmer was a good motivator too and Weiss has forgotten more football than most people around here know. As far as the statement about Rick Blevins for nonfootball I gotta say I wrestled for 4 years and Coach Barber was the best coach I ever wrestled for, he worked us hard and motivated us to. Plus he was just fun to be around.

Yeah putting 9 into the finals sealed that deal, I am impressed with winning those 8 opening round matches gives them alot to build off of, if anyone wants to see the brackets they are up to date at the moment on www.cbdwc.org

Dotson has to wrestle again, the worst he could do was 6th, and the same with bartley, by making it to the semis he guaranteed a top 6, yeah good tourny and season for them, if they could have won on of those semis I think they would have brought home a top 3, it hurt losing that one to poqoson

I would like to see it happen and like I said they had a great first round, I was just responding to "do they have a chance this year" and you have to be honest no they dont this year, its going to be interesting from now on with Cburg and Grundy being in the same region

They sent 8 had a great first round put all 8 in the quarters, no chance at winning though, Christiansburg just had to many more wrestlers, they have all 14 classes and put all 14 into the quarters, like Dale Cox said there is strength in numbers they have 6 extra guys there scoring points.
