Having just seen my 3 sons complete their high school eligibility at CCHS and move on to college over the last 2 years I just wanted to echo how nice it is to see how coaches are able help to create further opportunities for their players. Good programs find kids places to continue both their academic and athletic careers. Its the mark of a successful program. Watching my kids compete in multiple sports in the SW district has been the joy of my life over the last few years. I have met many nice people in many places. I will truly miss that. To all of you still playing or watching your kids play enjoy it. It goes way too quick. I will continue to watch as a fan and have some great memories. Good luck to all!

You know as funny as it is Groh is the perfect coach to scheme against some of these teams because of his NFL background. Still a long way to go but who would have thunk it. At least Saturdays have some meaning. How cool would it be to win out until they play the Hokies?

I know nothing about TV but Galax is a very solid team. They have size inside that keeps you honest and alters shots around the basket.( Adams and George). If you can get the big guy in foul trouble then you have a chance. They have 3 perimeter shooters who can knock down alot of 3's. If they are all on good luck. The keys are Frazier and Alouf who have both had 30 point games. When they don't shoot well you have a solid chance.They probably will not beat you inside. Take away the shooters. Just my opinion.

The game was moved to tonight but we are out of school today also. Not sure what will happen today.

Carroll's seniors want it more on home turf. Carroll 24- Gmen 16. Good job seniors!

Their passing reminded me of Palmer and William Byrd. It was mostly Harris with a change of pace to the fullback or a quarterback keeper.

Palmer from Byrd is a junior and was second in rushing. He is a jr. A different back he depends on quickness. I have seen all 3 and they are all different : Palmer- quickness, Peak- power, Harris- acceleration, lateral agility. Be hard to pick one of the three.

Carroll JV's won I think 32-28.

You're right Grundy didn't play terrible. I have alot of respect for them. In the 3rd and 4th alot of our points were layups that helps the percentage.

I don't see a 35 point turn (winning by 20 then losing by 15). I think it will be a closer game. Galax got their big man back a few games back and has shortened their bench playing time. Will definitely be a tough physical game.

I thought technically we'd be co-champs but seeding in tournament would go to Abingdon due to tiebraker. Didn,t that happen a couple of years ago?

These games are at Carroll. We were supposed to play Galax but moved the district game to tonight.
