I've been around high school sports long enough to know that anybody can beat anybody on any given night. These are kids we are talking about. If a good team comes i with the right game plan, it can be done. I wouldn't crown Gate City state champions just yet. They still have to get past Graham, Richlands and Union....which are all very capable teams. Also, the usual suspects in Martinsville and Dan River will most likely have a big say in how things play out.

Richlands had better enjoy, because if they are fortunate enough to beat Graham in the tourney finals (which I would't bet the house on), they won't beat Graham again for .... I'm guesing ohhhh the next 3 or 4 years or so.

So now they're using Twitter?, but before the game they were not... (just giving you a hard time... )

Carlock did an excellent job in not letting Richlands get the ball in transition. Very good defensive effort tonight for Graham, not allowing Richlands to get in the paint and being patient on offense. On a side note, I was very disappointed to see Martin for Graham fouled very hard in each contest by Richlands in what looked to be flagrant fouls, yet the officials failed to call the flagrant. The one tonight could have justified an ejection in my opinion. I may be a little biased, but there is no place for that in basketball.

Credit Graham's defense, they played very well.

Graham's defense was on point tonight. You can blame it on poor shooting if you wish, but Graham was clearly better on this night. That's what happens when you play good defense. Both teams should advance to the conference finals for round #3.... Tough draw for Graham in Gate City in the regionals if it plays out as it should....but this Graham team is built for the future, an abundance of youth. Martin has been extremely impressive this season with his development from last season to this season. That kid is one outstanding basketball player.

A Yes, but I havent missed too many games this season, Graham looked a lot crisper with their passing and had a better flow to their game.

Richlands "should" win by 10 tonight..Graham has 2 seniors, neither of which are starters. They are starting 2 sophomores and 3 juniors... Two freshmen are seeing significant playing time. I predicted that Graham and Richlands would split home and away this season and I'm sticking to it. Graham looked sharp on Wednesday, Graham by 8. Not sure if Richlands gets that first region win this season. Looks like they will get Union, no easy task. I don't see Graham or Richlands advancing in Regions, but I could be wrong. Graham should have the best team they have had in quite a while next season.

Only 11 can play at once...... so bring it. On a side note, if you're gonna get transfers....can you at least get them from somewhere like Union or Gate City??? It's hard to tell how good these Hurley boys with their level of competition.

Conference Tournament will be at Graham this year. Regional Tournament will be at George Wythe.

The whole fiasco was done the wrong way from the beginning. Who in their right mind would bring an upstart team into that conference and on top of that, not recruit locally (other than 1 or 2) on the team. They have to be losing money hand over fist. Maybe they can write it off as missionary work or charity or something... I had heard talk of the AAC starting football, but I think that fell through.

Will be at Cassell Coliseum next season, yes I'm serious.

I came back. Not an NFL player or anything, but I always wanted to come back here.

Graham opened up a close game going into the fourth quarter and end up winning by 27. Graham looked sluggish for 3 quarters, had a lid on the basket... then exploded with a flurry of defense and transition points in a 69-42 win over Grayson County.

With Morgan back.. I'll give Graham the edge. Dalton has to stay out of foul trouble.. But Graham has a deep bench.. I just want Carlock to refuse to take the ball first and force a jump ball. Every possession counts...why let Richlands dictate how the game starts. At least send the message that Graham will dictate how this game will go.

Final was 70-31.

Graham jumps out to a quick 59-21 lead with starters back in. Bench cleared midway through the 3rd everybody has already seen playing time in this one.
