  1. All The Right Moves (Shows how important HS football is in small towns.) gin & juice or gin & tonic
  2. Just a few comments from tonight. I was impressed by McCracken. (first time I have seen him play) He showed poise, has a cannon for an arm, and the running is another thing to worry about if you are on D. A special pat on the back to #25. He was outsized on the D line, and kept playing hard. Kevin Crouse from Pulaski was as advertised. Strong runner, great spin moves, and likes to punish would-be tacklers. (I agree that Pulaski would be a scarier opponent with a better passing attack.) Pulaski has several strong backs as well. Beaver looked scary. Four or five good backs. Ponder is a fine receiver. I was impressed with the poise they showed on that last drive against Pulaski. George Wythe played hard. Their QB took some licks against Graham and kept coming back. As the only "A" school there, they showed a lot of heart and grit. I really enjoyed watching the QB for Rockbridge. He has a great arm, and some good quickness and acceleration. He put some moves on to get out of trouble and made some good throws. I will make no comments about Graham, since I have a bias. (As a Graham fan anything I saw will either be seen as homerism or negativism.) I do have a question for anyone with the band. Is Mangione Magic going to be a tribute to Chuck Mangione; or could there be a twist? Overall, I thought the quality of play was good for a scrimage. A few mistakes, but well played. Next week it's all for real. No gimme first downs, no coaches out on the field (Pulaski). I can't wait.
  3. The main reason is that mixed beverages can be sold in any facility developed by a regional IDA as long as one of the member communities allows mixed beverages. (The law was passed to allow a motel to be developed in Duffield in the 1980's.) The other reason to involve the IDA is it can issue tax exempt bonds.
  4. Mussels. (I love them steamed as an appetizer.) SEC or ACC football
  5. Cobb was a mean, racist SOB, but he could play Love or Money
  6. Goldfinger (You got to love Pussy Galore and her flying circus.) Snow or 90 Degrees +
  7. Ricky Williams (He only hurts himself, and no guns are involved.) Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey or more money
  8. Is JD playing in the Pocahontas this weekend?
  9. Dazed & Confused Steak or Chicken
  10. No my friend, you take the "reins." Kings "reign" over their subjects. I was having fun at the BDT headline writer's expense.
  11. What a shame. We have seen this story in our own communities on a smaller scale. We will now just see the continued downward spiral.
  12. You have to love the BDT. It is nice to know that McClanahan is the ruler of Beaver football. (I thought that was Freddy Simons.)
  13. Glad to hear that Garland is going to be a Hokie. He is a great guy.
  14. Just remember that Jack Handey is really Al Franken.
  15. Van Morrison (Gloria) Offense or Defense
  16. You must not have had the steak sandwiches at Mitchell. Good stuff. Did it occur to anyone that MV may have requested back-to-back games?
  17. He got you, Tazewell County does not offer French.
  18. All of us have said stupid things we later regret. Aaron Rouse just did it to a reporter. Been there, done that, and have the scars to prove it.
  19. Eric Workman is now the Asst. Principal @ THS. Hovis is still the Principal.
  20. Has anyone heard what Coach Marrs has in mind to replace Eric Workman (Asst. Principal THS), Lee Walker, and a Middle School coach?
