I loved the comparison of the NCAA to a Scooby Doo villian.

This is the reason I don't buy most conspiracy theories. There are always people who will blab what they know to inflate their sense of importance. How often do you see someone leaking information to the media on a confidential matter.

There are some interest conspiracy theories floating out there. The suspect's parents are saying the FBI set them up. My personal favorites are the "False Flag" ones. One of which has a private military contractor planting the bombs.

And will continue to until they get new ownership and management. MJ

I will save my opinion for of Emmert for another time. Suffice it to say Nike's big $$$ sponsorship of the NCAA = lighter penalties for the Ducks.

Hence Chip Kelly's desire to leave for the NFL.

Swift justice is necessary. But we need to avoid ascribing theories or motives. Is it the act of a deranged person (Unibomber), a deranged person with a political motive (Olympic or OKC), or is it an act of terrorism (pick your poison) has yet to be determined. I for one an happy to sit back and wait for the evidence to mount up and suspects to be identified before making any sweeping pronouncements.

The abuse is found at all levels of the system. Just look at major corporations who take operations overseas to avoid US taxes and then take government subsidies. Or those companies who sole purpose for being is to suckle at the government teat.

A better choice.

The M is for Money

A simple question; don't we feel that they are the community's kids when they play sports, and a community problem when they are running in gangs? Also don't we also say "somebody should do something about this and that." So who are these somebodies?

Never said there wasn't cause. (Might have been a case of too much success to young.) Didn't those recruiting classes include a 6'11" guy who liked to use razors in pickup games against football players?

They'll just go out and find another group of egocentric morons to base a show on. There sure doesn't seem to be a shortage.

They should be completely independent or fully subsidized. The Postal Service is in a no-man's land where Congress can put provisions on their operation that make it hard to be profitable and also stop them from making changes to fix the problem.

I read the entire article last night. The part that bothered me was that the Auburn Police and coaching staff were not forthcoming with the McNeil family as to the nature of the charges against him. Then the athletic department releases a statement to the media about the incident and the family hears the details that way. The other stuff, sadly is just business as usual at a lot of programs.

Don't let "Her Honor" know.

Like any employer faced with a workplace safety issue, the NFL is taking steps to limit the risk on the job. Is it motivated by sincere interest in the health and safety of their employees, fear of potential lawsuits, or their insurance underwriters telling them to clean things up? In the end, the game is going to have to change, or it will eventually fade from the public eye; much like boxing.

I completely agree on NCST. The high expectations may have been too much for them.

This may be the rest of the story. It shows how inexact recruiting can be. Talent can be measured, but time shows the intangibles. Head cases, bad seeds, and lack of drive will eventually be exposed.
