Giles JV's have been good for years. Sad part is 1/3 of them will quit football before their senior year. And not because of the AD or because their sister plays soccer at Hilton Head in July, or something like that.

Oh we've had many that didn't play over the year because of the AD/JV coach...and a bunch could have helped us....and parents are part of the problem too

60minuteman was correct unless I'm overlooking someone. If you're thinking about Ricky, he graduated a couple of years before the current coach assumed the head coaching responsibilities and would have just been an assistant. Ricky won State in 2005 and Williams didn't take the team until 2008

He said former players...we have 2....none that played under Jeff as head coach but he was assistant for years too

Would Never happen but Nathan Tanner. He's absolutely killing it for Parkersburg South up in West Virginia. That would be my dream pick to take over Giles but like I said.... would never happen.

So who would you want that's realistic

it's hard to show any senior leadership when the kids don't like or respect the head coach. Somebody explain to me, how a coach of  a dozen or so years as head coach and a state championship has no, that's a big fat zero, former players on his coaching staff? My theory is, they didn't like or respect him enough as a player to come back and try to coach under him. One former player is on the staff at Narrows now, and from my understanding is a key influencer of the success they have had the last few years. Why is he there. From my understanding he's not a teacher, so he didn't go to Narrows because of a teaching job. Why?

Was the rec director at narz and hung around...who else do we have in coaching that would be an assistant here?

Zero is wrong...one former great player is on staff

I provide actual intellect and statistics etc...and this is what you come up with? It's a lot like your go to "no athletes" comments or the "injury" excuse which in unequivocally false. How about the every year talk about how Giles will be good once this j.v. team comes up....which they never are. When you gonna call a spade a spade and stop placing blame everywhere it shouldn't?

I blame everyoñe....that includes the kids

Dumbest comment possibly ever! No leadership in the 13 seniors on the team?? If that's true, where the hell are the coaches in this scenario?? Senior leadership is a dumbass talking point used by people like you that doesn't have a single clue. Senior leadership has never made a single football play ever. I feel dumber even talking with you sometimes

Hit a nerve pal? Go back to narrows

Probably wouldn't matter how many athletes a team has if they switch positions week after week and have no clue how to play their position. For example...Giles week one starting Defensive End is playing cornerback tonight. Rationalize that one for me?

P.S Credit to Swvagridiron for putting in the work and posting/trying to get the young BandanaBunch some ballgames, but he shouldn't have to do this. There should have been 3 or 4 teams in the pipeline, already communicated with in August in case the cancels happen. With our AD, I can assure you, this didn't happen.

Our AD isn't going to put in much effort at all

It was close the 1st time and Narrows got lucky at the end of the game. Key Pruett at QB if he Is at the position. Game plan to get more pressure and it's a different ballgame.

I respect your opinion....I just think our pass defense is so bad with pruett at WR all they will do is throw it up and I'm not sure much we can do to stop it

If he's at QB we tackle bad too.

But it would be a close game

I think the main advantage for us would be that we can actually prepare ourselves for Pruett playing QB. First game we wasn’t accounting for him to have his hands on the ball every play and we weren’t able to make in-game adjustments.

On the other hand I’m sure that Narrows has starting implementing new plays like RPOs that will make him more of a threat playing QB.

I think it would be another tight game, Giles will just have to do better scoring points inside the redzone.

Yeah I agree but our pass defense is so bad I can't see us stopping them no matter who QB is

As long as E. Montgomery, Craig and Auburn are in 1C, Giles is always going to have 1 playoff game. "At least I got that going for me" (Caddyshack, 1980).

By God, it may seem like nothing to you, but it's a big deal to me!

And that's sad that we basically make playoffs with a couple wins
