  1. lee until graham learns to pass the ball consistently richlands will dominate them. ghs will run the same offense they always have and rhs fun and gun should light up the scoreboard. even though my kid wont be at center this year i hate to admit it but i think the offense will be more productive than last year. only question for rhs is defense and with snake palmer that question gets answered every year. i predict that if rhs beats gatecity at gatecity soundly the first week than watch out for rhs until deep in the playoffs.
  2. wicks you will have to play hard to beat chad adams next year in sacks. you have to remember coach mance may have you play contain on the wide side of the field this year.
  3. i heard that only mcknight was invited to a nike camp. justin is a great qb but without last years offensive line he may not have all day to throw the ball. he really needs to work on release in under 4 seconds which is the way the spread offense is designed anyway.

    Graham

bluefield goes to state and ghs gets thumped not once but twice by the mighty tornadoes of richlands...
  5. rhs wont miss a beat on offense so the coaching staff says. they will have a solid offensive line and great skill people. the key to rhs season will be replacing the best defense in school history and who will step up as a leader. i hear that the time is not being spent in the weight room this year like they did last year. 13 and 1 seasons dont stare with two a days they are created in the weight room in january. i hope the dedication is there.as for as graham is concerned until they can throw the ball the storm will continue to stop them cold. lets go blues.
  6. as always it will be up to the seniors. this years group of seniors was very special and to get back to lynchburg will take another special effort from next years seniors.i hope next years group will be as selfless when it comes to fame and as hardworking as this year. coach mance also needs to remember not to put the whole work load on one player i.e. spread it around. timmy brown and cain ringstaff were great but very stopable by themselves and mance has a tendency to ride one "horse" all year. being to predictable cost us at state and he needs to use all his weapons not just a select few. good luck blues.
  7. no excuses about turf however if vhsl wants games on turf it should make it fair on both teams. for example vhsl should supply turf shoes for all the teams i.e. ta had all the same shoes on saturday and rhs had mix and match that many of the kids said were to small or way to big. also both teams should be provided equal time to practice on turf i.e. when rhs was not allowed to travel to uvawise then ta should have to stay home and practice on grass, and if ta is allowed to have 5 days on turf then the vhsl should provide a situation where rhs can also pracice 5 days i.e. bus money, tutors, while they stay at uva wise etc. if it is to be a fair "playing field" you know just like the turf. if you were at the game you saw that ta had no trouble on turf while rhs players fell flat on their face just walking on the field. just a thought.
  8. this group of kids hasnt been cocky all year and havnt started to be cocky now. the three "stars" if there are any on this team would be mccracken, jennings, and stanton. they are on tv almost daily now and are still three of the most polite, humble dedicated young men ive ever met. if rhs loses on saturday it will be because we lost to a better team not because the boys have taken anything for granted.
  9. coach says it is not a penalty. it used to be a penalty to kick it out of the endzone but coach says its not anymore to protect the kickers. even if it was a penalty it sure didnt make up for the cheap shots, trash talking and general disregard for good sportsmanship that liberty showed. rhs needs to be congradulated on the restraint shown by the blues.
  10. WAY TO GO BLUES. THE BEST HIGHSCHOOL GAME IVE SEEN. IM VERY PROUD OF ALL THE BOYS BUT ESPECIALLY MY SON SEAN MULLINS. YOUVE POURED YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO THIS SEASON AND IT HAS SHOWN IN EVERY GAME. I WILL PRAY THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO PLAY NEXT WEEK IF I KNOW YOU WILL THERE SUPPORTING YOUR TEAM. JUST KNOW THAT A PART OF EACH OF THESE 13 WINS IS YOURS AND WHEN WE WIN STATE ONE OF THOSE RINGS IS YOURS. GO BLUES !!!!!!!
  11. my uncle in bedford just called and said that liberty has been working hard on their passing game all week. either they think they cant run on us or they think our pass defense is weak. either way if they are changing their offense that much to adjust to our defense they could be in trouble already. go blues
  12. my prediction is for the ultimate storm. just like in the wizard of oz, the evil witch (played by lb) is crushed ched by a big house also known as justin "big house " taylor. rhs controls the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and wins 35 to 14. lb runs 99%of the time and counts on the defense to fall for the fakes and lose outside contain. coach palmer wont let that happen to the storm defense. good luck boys and thanks for 4 months of great football.
  13. great post lance. my fear about rhs is predictability. i.e.timmy brown rt timmy brown lf. cain ringstaff rt cain ringstaff lt. sounds very familiar to caleb jennings rt and caleb jennings lt. coach mance finds a horse and runs his over and over. salem last year and magna vista the year before just had to stop brown and ringstaff and they beat rhs. this year prior to calebs return there were no stars and mance spread the ball around. now i can call the plays from the stands. ghs knew our plays before we ran them based on formation and motion. mance needs to mix it up this time of year cause lb has all the film they need to scout us. i still think the blues win saturday simply because it will be a pure running team in lb vs the best run stopping defense in the region. defense wins championships. good luck blues.
  14. take for what its worth. my uncle lives in bedford. he came to ghs vs rhs first game and then went to liberty game tne next week. he felt rhs should be able to win if they surround the ball carrier like they did at graham. thats an opinion from a non biased observer and i hope he is right.
  15. great photos big d. need more pictures of #54. good lucking kid almost as good looking as his dad.hahaha
