i agree with the talent being there..i think maybe if they would just line up and run a power game then go to the spread every once in awhile it woul help, as far as what i saw from g-dub. they are alot faster than i was expecting. as far as the game between holston and ph you cant go on scores in that rivalry anymore...but i do think george wythe will beat holston

just one of those weeks where alot could happen.... i feel like an upset in the brewing this week. could be one of these games Northwood hanging with Chilhowie(no I didnt say beating them, just a toughr game than expected.) Patrick Henry coming from Wytheville with a win. Marion spoiling Richlands hopes of making the playoffs Rural Retreat pulling one out agianst Holston Grundy coming close or knocking off the G-Men. Just a feeling.........but probably just gas

there is a article on the bristol herald site so im sure its in todays(Thursday) paper. Seems to be really good news for the young man form john battle. hope he continues to improve. Had the meningitis a few years back myself.

if we going to go back and talk about years and years back the only head to head match i seen between p.v. and ph was a scrimmage around 1998. i think you all had julius jones and in a two hour scrimmage he had about 30 yards and ph won 35-6 so..........but anyway yes p.v. usually post very good teams dont know must be something in the water but this is a post about two teams/ballgame that meant something to both small towns so call it what you want but for 55minutes that night it was a pretty good game

not to mention their offense never scored til about 4 min to go in the game... ill the boys in damascus credit they won but if they are good ph is deff. desent because after all the hype i heard about holston i just wasnt very impressed. either that or ph done something right for at least one night

not syaing this because i am from there but i say about 187.3% better since that scrimmage. defense looks alot better......

and by the way i THINK 7-3...which is not bad

i went to the game friday night. i think holston has a fairly desent team....but i was nowhere impressed, the medford kid was averaging 12-13 yard a carry prior to the game and at one point he had 19 rushes for 54 yards..thats not to great. p.h. played well and im sure alot of it was all due to the fact this has turned into such a rivalry game is why holston sorta struggled...i know ill will prob. catch alot of critaziam forthat remark but look at it like this holstons offense never put the ball into the endzone till late in the 4th. i think if they can get a little more passing going on they could be dangerous because to me the play that won the game was when holston went for it and #44 made a great catch and got hit pretty hard and held on to the ball. plus i didnt understand when it was 4th and 2 with 7:00 min to go and ph was ontheir own 24 yard liine that they went for it.... and if you do go for it why they took the Gonzalez kid out... when he and groves where in the backfield alone the didnt get many yards alnight but when both was in there ph moved the ball fairly well...........plus heres another question in j.i. burton not d1???

okay i went and sit thru the rain and watched a really good game...yeah yeah the score ws 21-6 but with 7:00 to go it was 7-6 holstons favor. i want to say congrats to holston on winning. i hope the rest of your season goes well....i dont think things will get any easier for you all. PH's coaching staff had patrick henrys defense well ready for holstons offense. i dont think holstons offense score till about 4 minutes to go into the game.............................BUT phs coaching staff sorta confused me. 4th and 2 ball on own 21 with 6:58 to go and they go for it. 1. the puter for ph prob averaged 45 yards a put 2. they took out the running back that got almost every first down they had all night.....but oh well well worth 5 bucks.

plus if anything the rain will make it a litter harder on the rowdy rebs. they like trowing the ball..............

lance ive read many of your post and you seem very smart....but football isnt played on paper. these teams had the exact same records last year and holston had a little bit better team but ph won.....kindaget my point??

if it is wet that gives even more of an edge to holston.......or maybe the ph coaching staff will wisen up and give the damn ball to Gonzalez.

This game has turned into quite the rivalery. thats a good thing to a point. I didnt agree with all the throwing of things last year in the varsity game. its even carried over into the little league games. In the 4th and 5th grade chapionship game it was nicley palyed, then the 6th and 7th was pretty ugly. you had coaches screaming and yelling and then came the cussing. DONT DO THIS IN FRONT OF KIDS!!! myself pulling for ph was very embarrased when a kid during the 6th and 7th grade game had to be taken out on a strecther had to listen to a lady from glade/emory/meadowview one of the tri-cities going wah wha wha get him off the field. That pissed me off. but either way im sure it will be a good game hope ph wins but if not best of luck to the boys from damascus

i would love to see the tigers pull it off but may be ify....I will still predict them to win because they have a better football program...abingdon just has alot more depth but hell 1100 students they should. you must had been at a different game. no pom pom stealing no band playing in front of another. sure the refs should had explained things a little better but the kid WAS NOT in the endzone so therefor the clock continued to roll and they shouldnt had stopped it to tell everyone hey ur kid was a yard from the endzone. the worse part bout it all was the q.b. from holston didnt realize it ws 4th down then spiked the ball. now for what else happend. ph could not get into the locker room becasue the police had to wrestle down and take control over some im assuming holston fans so ph was sent back to the far end of the field when crossing the field players removed helmets and held them high to the home crowd as doing so the holston crowd booos...then(the part im not proud of) they just turn towared the holston crowd with helmets still held high thats when they started throwing bottles ect at the KIDS. yes the players from ph acted like kids but hey they are kids. Thoses wasnt KIDS throwning seats, bottles and whatever else they could find. but hey I thought it was fun!!lol

no i dont really hate holston just they havnt really played anyone and heck even if they win they still havent beat anyone with a winning recrod

my personal openion is chilhoiw is doing something right. my fear is they may go 8-2 and even 9-1 and sit home and watch the playoffs.....hate that then you take holston or northwood 4-6 5-5 and go to the palyoffs

qd is pretty good. o line very big. have some athletic receivers also. the quarteer back is the best running back they have but p.h. had him fumbling almost everytime he carried it so the coach over in glade seen something on film
