  1. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The way the Hokies have come out tonight, it is makes last week a little easier to swallow... [/ QUOTE ] Not really. I'm still wet in places from sitting out at that game. I think G-man is too. LOL I hope they can keep it going next week for F$U. [/ QUOTE ] Ohh I definitely know what you mean... it still hurts, but it is a little better for me. The only way I can explain last week is that is worse than any break up I have ever been through. No one has ever broken my heart like it was last Thursday night! I am so glad I didn't go all the way down there and tailgate with you and G-Man because I don't think I would have made it back home in one piece, for various reasons! Haha.
  2. The way the Hokies have come out tonight, it is makes last week a little easier to swallow...
  3. has committed to Coastal Carolina to play basketball next year and will sign his LOI at the end of November.
  4. Ok, now I understand it was a joke.. but with a lot of the stuff that people post on this board I would not be surprised at all if that was someone's true feelings.
  5. [ QUOTE ] LOL i doubt it's coincidence.....bad refs, bad weather, injuries.....just another way to try to throw off the MAVS. Tell Coach Simon to get back to class and leave other schools alone. [/ QUOTE ] This is probably the most ignorant post I have ever read on a message board in my entire life.
  6. Yeah me too, I had been planning on going down for this game all year, but I am anxiously awaiting an exam grade that has a lot of emphasis or would definitely be in Blacksburg tonight.
  7. [ QUOTE ] BC 42 VT 6 [/ QUOTE ] Hahahahahaha!
  8. No, the entire stadium was on the field after the Weir game!
  9. Well if you had taken it, there was a lot of potential on that team that maybe, just maybe, you could have groomed into a state championship team!
  10. [ QUOTE ] Maybe I should apply for the assistant's job... [/ QUOTE ] The day I see you coaching Bluefield's baseball team is the day I die! Hahaha. I wish you would have put in for the golf position a couple years back...
  11. [ QUOTE ] As I recall in 99 east set some records against you guys in state it goes from year to year with regards to tough schedules....william campbell is good, richlands is good, who else do you play noone else you play scott well Monroe disposed of them easily...so really you play two tough games other than Monroe so that makes you schedule tough? Better watch out the plowboys are coming to town and they don't run....uh oh! [/ QUOTE ] No one on this board said that Bluefield played an extremely hard schedule. It is a known fact that Bluefield DOES have trouble scheduling games and with 9 games they do as good as they can getting the competition that they can to hopefully prepare them a run at a state title. The fact is that Bluefield only has 9 games and the better part of this year's schedule is very good. Graham is an very good team and is coming along nicely as the season progresses. William Campbell is comparable speed-wise to Bluefield. Richlands is a team that is just loaded with talent. Counting James Monroe that is 4 very formidable opponents. With that being said, 4 out of 9, or lets say half of Bluefield's schedule is very tough and I don't see that anyone would disagree with that. And in all serious, the Princeton and Mount View games are rivalry games and are hard to predict because you never know what they will bring onto the field. Both teams usually play to a much higher level when they face Bluefield. James Monroe really only has 1 real good opponent this year in Bluefield and a couple potential "threatening" games with Mount View and Greenbrier East, who have a whopping 2 wins combined between them (both of which are Mount View's). So yes, with 9 GAMES Bluefield does have a tougher schedule than the "Almighty 10 Game Schedule" James Monroe has.
  12. [ QUOTE ] do you think Bluefield would play Pikeview if the dates worked out? [/ QUOTE ] No, not at all. Bluefield and Pike View have had a few situations where it has gotten a little ugly on and off the field. Coach Simon knows that scheduling Pike View would be a waste of a date and essentially a JV game scheduled on a Friday night.
  13. [ QUOTE ] I noticed you didn't dare mention the three games that Bluefield and James Monroe have shared in common this year (Shady, Mt. View and Oak Hill) -- which all played out in similar ways and with similar scores. You want to pick out the things we don't share in common and then harp on those. Yes, we play Pikeview. We do carry a 10-game schedule. Try it some time. I used to not mind you too bad, but I'm quickly changing my opinion. Okay, so Bluefield's got speed. Good news is it's a football game on Friday and not a track meet. [/ QUOTE ] I am sure that anyone who wants to be fully prepared for a playoff run would rather play a 9 game schedule with the likes of a few QUALITY football opponents such as Graham, Richlands, and William Campbell. So brag about a 10 game schedule that boasts all of Wyoming East, Narrows, and Pike View because in the 2nd half when your starters are sitting on the bench, your JV team won't get enough reps and practice to win you a state championship.
  14. [ QUOTE ] Get serious..............there won't be 100 people from Bluefield at the game and half of them will try to sneak in or use some bogus pass to get in for free. [/ QUOTE ] What kind of drugs are you on? There will be close to 100 there before 6:00 tailgating in the parking lot.
  15. [ QUOTE ] 3. Boston College [/ QUOTE ] They have a meeting next Thursday night in Blacksburg with the #11 team in the nation... Could spell TROUBLE!!!!
  16. I think Havens will do a fine job at Bluefield, I too, just think that it is ashame that Webster isn't getting a shot. Havens said in the paper that he likes to run the the fast paced offense, and pressure defense so I think Bluefield is in good hands. If Ellison stays then that would also be a huge asset to the team also.
  17. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Another question I have, will Mitchell Stadium be a packed house with fans from Richlands and James Monroe flocking to the stadium on Friday night to catch a glimpse of future opponents? [/ QUOTE ] I would expect and hope that James Monroe will have coaches and players in attendance. I'll be disappointed if they don't. Plus, it's good football and everyone likes good football. If I go, can I sit on the Bluefield side? I don't have cooties and I only bite if provoked. [/ QUOTE ] id dont think we would complain as long as you didn't wear any of that ugly purple... haha [/ QUOTE ] oh, banning that could be a problem because I just recently bought a new purple jacket. A nice dark purple and it says "James Monroe Mavericks" on it and everything ... it's very cool. I really think you'd like it. [/ QUOTE ] Purple...the NEW pink... [/ QUOTE ] It's tough, like a deep, mean bruise. Purple and black -- cool. [/ QUOTE ] Like a purple nurple!
  18. [ QUOTE ] One of the most talented backs from Pikeview is playing for Graham now and has made a difference. Do you know him , if I'm not misstaken his classmates still live as he does in the PVHS area, those he abondaned. [/ QUOTE ] http://youtube.com/watch?v=_cuxupY5AYY
  19. Beavertail did those UNC tickets come through? Let me know how much you need and you've got it!
  20. [ QUOTE ] None of you know why BHS changed their colors as in the last few years, I do. It is because they dropped the sweet as sugar beaver. Portraying a beaver other than Cleaver, the sissy Beaver, jaws full of I don't even want to guess what to an aggressive Oregon Beaver. Look at the official Oregon website {I did} and you will see that a brown vicious beaver will not look good on a maroon jersey. Go figure. [/ QUOTE ] If it were modeled after Oregon, then Bluefield would be Ducks. It is Oregon State that we received copyright permission to use their logo.
  21. [ QUOTE ] honestly the only reason i stayed was because i rode with my dad and they needed officials to do the chains, so i couldn't leave till the game was over. Im glad i rode with him too...lol [/ QUOTE ] Honestly, I am glad you had to stay because you were the one who called me and told me to come back! haha
  22. [ QUOTE ] They were talking about doing that my Junior year. I agree, it would be really cool to see Bluefield get a wrestling team [/ QUOTE ] Rocks, I would love to see you in a tight spandex wrestling uniform! haha
  23. I watched the film several times in Coach Simon's room and I got the same chills as I did when it actually happened. I agree with Rules that it was the greatest comeback that I had personally ever witnessed (partially), because I had just left the game right before the comeback started. I sprinted back into the stadium just in time to see the game-tying drive and the rest of the history. haha
  24. If you look closely, Brooks said that. In no way would that have anything to do with Coach Simon being cocky. And as Rules stated, it is nothing more than a kid talking about how they practice hard no matter what the situation is they are in. What is so funny about that?
