  1. Now tell me why Marion wants to join the Hogo? I don't know why they would want to play Holston and Northwood with their combined enrollment of about 600 every year when they could play Gate City and Va. High.
  2. 2011 numbers CMD, Lee 712, Gate City 708, Va high 651, John Battle 607, Lebanon 553. HOGO, G.W. 435, Chilhowie 445, Holston 320, Northwood 267, PH 416, RR 360. Marion 715.
  3. Maybe the fact that Marion has over 700 students and the largest hogo school has 460 has something to do with it. When Marion is bigger than Holston and Northwood put together I would think they are better fit with CMD.
  4. some news on vhsl meeting today. http://vivaloudoun.blogspot.com/2012/02/news-vhsl-approves-loudoun-schools.html
  5. When did Marion join the hogoheegee.
  6. I wasn't at the game mentioned, but it seems the parents and coaches were out of hand or am I wrong. I'm all for supporting your kids. Oh and how much were these officials getting paid. Nothing, I would suspect. You couldn't get me to ref an aau game for any amount of money. I'd say the kids got over it as soon as they stopped at McDonalds after the game. To bad the adults can't act like the kids sometimes.
  7. You all have got to be kidding. First of all when was the objective in 7th grade basketball to win. All the kids have to play a certain amount in 7th grade. I am not speaking of the current 8th grade coach, I'm sure he did a fine job. But if winning at the 8th grade level is of the utmost importance to someone, not devolping some skill level and knowledge of the game, then they may be in the wrong line of work. As for the jv boys coach at Northwood, you would be hard pressed to find a finer man. I would want my son to play for him any day. I don't know if they would win every game or not but I know they would be treated right and to me that is way more important than their record. Come on folks, we're talking about 8th grade and jv basketball, not North Carolina and Duke.
